paulclaassen It is nice to see Ashley Lawrence form the original two films return to the franchise. I enjoyed Kirsty back and reference to the first film. This installment is essentially a murder mystery as detectives try to solve a missing person case. This is certainly much better than 3, 4 & 5 in the series. The storyline is unfortunately confusing due to constant dreams and hallucinations. Pinhead also only arrives an hour into the movie, and then disappears again for a bit only to return for the finale. Great twist ending. Dean Winters is very good in the role of Kirsty's husband, Trevor.

tomgillespie2002 A whopping 15 years after Clive Barker's masterful introduction to the hellish world of Pinhead and his Cenobite entourage comes the sixth entry into the Hellraiser franchise, and continues the tradition of each sequel becoming more and more removed from the original's mythology. Like the previous film, Hellraiser: Inferno (2000), Hellseeker feels like a stand-alone script with Barker's world of sadomasochism shoehorned in so that Dimension Films can retain the rights to a series that can be clumsily and cheaply churned out, and can be almost guaranteed to at least make its money back.One of the few things worthy of note in Hellseeker is the return of Ashley Laurence as Kirsty Cotton, who went A.W.O.L. after the third entry, Hell on Earth (1992). Instead on weaving her character back into the story, director Rick Bota opts instead to focus on her deadbeat husband Trevor, played by Oz's Dean Winters. After a car crash leaves Kirsty apparently dead, Trevor begins to suffer from delusions and a severe case of amnesia. He is being questioned by a couple of cops who are keen to get to the bottom of some unanswered questions, and he discovers that he has been cheating on his wife with a woman at work and a flirty neighbour. He is also plagued by flashbacks, including one where he gives his wife a birthday present, the Lament Configuration.Hellseeker takes 'inspiration' from many films, especially Angel Heart (1987) and Jacob's Ladder (1990). While those films used a fractured narrative as a way for the viewer to peek inside the damaged mind of its protagonist and to keep you guessing as the story unfolds. this dud simply has Winters awaken after every other scene rubbing his temples to reveal that the previous scene was 'just a dream', long after you had already guessed it. Winters is perfectly competent in the role, but his character just isn't interesting enough to hold your attention, and it's a wonder as to why the focus isn't on Laurence instead, whose tie-ins with the original trilogy would have made for a more intriguing experience. Doug Bradley is as solid as you would expect as Pinhead, but like most of the straight-to-video sequels, he is barely used, making for a completely boring and uninspired experience.

blackboxla The "Hellraiser" series as we know it took a new turn for the better and the worst with "Hellraiser: Inferno" and Hellseeker follows in those footsteps.Much like Part 5, Hellseeker pulls an "Angel Heart"-light on our asses and plunges its lead character, as well as the audience, into a Trippe world of visions, mind-bending reality, confused identity, flashbacks, what not. Overall, "Hellraiser: Hellseeker" did provide for some quality entertainment and I dug it as a stand alone. But much like Inferno,Dean Winters (Trevor) does OK with the material that he's given.Ashley Laurence (Kirsty) shines in the limited time she's given, it was great to see the dame kicking it again it was her best performance as Kristy id like to see her return as a female Pinhead one day. Doug Bradley (Pinhead) walks through this one; I think he also knew that Pinhead doesn't have much to do with this sequel. Sarah Jane Redmond (Gwen) does the S&M jive very well and has a belly I'd love to lick 24/7. William S. Taylor (Det. Lange) charmed me with his unique behaviour; there was something about the guy that just made me want to watch him go. he "Seven"-esque look kicks in again with the colours being washed out and the tone being all grim. It still works although it's starting to get a little tired. Bota handles his directorial duties well by slapping in potent slow motion, giving the images an effective bluish tint, using the occasional blurry cam and delivering stylish camera angles. Competent. If you liked "Hellraiser: Inferno", you'll most likely get a few hooks in the throat from this one. The flick is well shot, eerie and will mind-bang your every orifice. But if you're going in here expecting Kirsty, Pinhead and the Cenobites to be relevant factors in this hallucinatory ball game; get ready for a letdown, because they're basically window dressing to allow the makers to call this"Hellraiser".

atinder ...about this sequel not as good as the one before, I thought it was better then the fourth movie in the series for so far.The most of the movie. I was really confused, as the movie kept on going, I just kept on getting more and more confused..I did not understand what the hell was going for most of the movie, I just found the whole movie to be very bizarre.I did not find that boring, there were some dull parts that drag on bit but that really, found this sequel well worth watching.I Clad that Kirsty returned in this movie to have a connections to the early movies in the seriesI really liked the the ending, it really took me by surprised as did not seeing coming at all,Over I thought it was very decent sequel but it did not have many bloody moment in this at all, i thought it even less gory then one before, which had very little gory in it.I give this 5 out of 10
