Hell Ride Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Steineded How sad is this?
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Izzy Adkins The movie is surprisingly subdued in its pacing, its characterizations, and its go-for-broke sensibilities.
ss336 I think I'll remember most of the scenes in this movie. It was extremely memorable. It was also skillful and clever. However, I'm surprised by all of the negative feedback towards it. I can only imagine that the reason it wasn't appreciated was that it's a Tarantino-style movie, and most people, to this day, don't 'get' Tarantino. To put it simply, Tarantino established a movie genre of his own, by making **movies about other movies**. Every scene references another, in a completely different movie. All of his references are from popular culture. The problem is that most people don't have even 5% of his movie knowledge, and are unsympathetic and lack understanding regarding his personal psychological issues, which also, always, find expression in his movies. While this movie wasn't directed by Tarantino, it's still firmly positioned in, and faithful to, the Tarantino style. For example, the scene where Leonor Varela tries to seduce the Pistolero Presidente across a snooker table, in a hallway, while giving him 'prophecies'. This is basically an allusion to a scene in the original Conan the Barbarian, but if you weren't aware of this context it would just strike you as lascivious, pointless lewdness (which, incidentally, is a popular myth or urban legend in its own right, but that's another matter)...What is this movie about? Again, if you watch this movie and expect to find things from the real world as opposed to a collection of homages and references to the yesteryear's classic cinema, you'll be disappointed. But if you watch it as it was intended - a piece of popular, entertaining art - you'll get the picture. It belongs to the Alexandre Dumas camp of enlightened liberty of consciousness. In short, it's about the romance of freedom. Even down to the arrow-in-the-chest scene, the characters are bandits cast in an exotic frame a la Dumas... I won't spoil it but you will need to have done some reading and/or movie watching before approaching this one.
jwgameday This movie rocks! It breaks the rules. It has the 3 B's. (Movie Reference) Great stars, great story. Not for the main stream. If you like Sex and violence and great quote, this is the movie for you. I know why people will not like this movie. The heroes are dark and not heroes. The movie does not play games it gives you the story straight. The twist in the film is not earth shattering but it is very cool. When I like a movie I promote it. I tell people to go watch it. I basically gave this movie to everyone last year for Christmas. The big names in this became my favorite. The bikes are awesome the bikers are awesome and the chicks are awesome. Take the ride. Hell ride! Not for Candy ass posers.
one-nine-eighty Cult stars are scattered all around this film, not to mention the "Tarantino presents" status, add into the mix gratuitous nudity, motorbikes, booze, and random violence and what do you have? A shockingly awful and random film. The story makes a tiny bit of sense, not much but enough; a long standing promise for revenge between biker gangs, but I kept asking myself why, what for, and what the f? The story is not linear but this isn't the problem to understanding what's going on, nor is the random mumbled monologues which just confuses... I don't know, it's hard to put my finger on exactly what the problem was but there was a problem and I feel I wasted time I'll never get back by watching this film. Madsen plays a typical Madsen character, Carradine plays a typical Carradine character, Hopper plays a typical Hopper character, and Larry Bishop plays (directed and wrote) a random central character which doesn't fit the film at all but probably fulfilled some fantasy of his. All the other characters were Hollywood beautiful to a stereotype, not one fatty or ugly. Special mention has to go to Vinny Jones who plays a typical Vinny Jones character struggling with maintaining a cockney/redneck/cowboy/western accent while simultaneously struggling with the ability to act any more convincingly than a guinea pig a pig convention.Needless to say I didn't enjoy the film, it thought to much of itself, and wanted to be both Sons of Anarchy, Pulp Fiction, gritty and cool. It wasn't big and it wasn't clever.
Bene Cumb The screenplay is rather mediocre - confusing and with too many repetition and clichés. Male muscles and tattoos, and female boobs and waists can be complementary, but not prevailing, and flashbacks / covered faces should not disorientate the viewers to the end. It seems that Larry Bishop took too heavy burden on his shoulders, being 4-in-1: director, the main star, screenwriter and co-producer.Apparently thanks to the banner "Quentin Tarantino Presents" the movie includes several magnificent actors in small(er) roles: Dennis Hopper, Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones, David Carradine. Eric Balfour is also okay, but female actors are not special - the sames applies for Larry Bishop. Thus, the movie is OK for killing time, but Bishop is far away from Tarantino or Rodriguez.
