This inspirational story follows the Nashville Rollergirls through the loss of their practice space, the move to a new game venue, injuries, relocation of key players, huge financial pressures, and even an epic flood. Ever the underdog, and with a burning in their bellies, the Nashville Rollergirls seek to prove themselves at every turn, and nothing will prevent them from achieving the goals they set. On a quest to succeed athletically on the national stage, and to keep their skater-owned-and operated organization afloat, the Nashville Rollergirls, in true Nashville spirit, refuse to accept no, can't, or won't. And in true roller derby spirit, they bring do-it-yourself to the next level.

Hell or High Water: The Story of the Nashville Rollergirls Audience Reviews

Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
shirley-368-243311 I wasn't quite sure what what to expect from this movie. I learned at the last minute that two of my band's songs had been included, and I decided (again, at the last minute) to drive up to Nashville and check out the movie. I was mesmerized. My eyes were glued to the screen from beginning to end. Listening to these women talk about how much roller derby had impacted their lives was spellbinding. Then, to learn what they have gone through to keep their sport alive was just inspiring. Finally, learning that they weren't even making money and were spending much of their own taught me so much about the important things in life and how something outside of yourself can have such a lasting effect on the lives of others who are merely "on the outside looking in." Including footage from the flood and describing how that impacted the women's dreams was a great move by this very talented young producer. If you get the privilege to see this movie, don't miss it. It will teach you so much about life and what's really important. I highly recommend this movie to young women everywhere. It will empower them while it inspires. A great, great, piece of work.
kerrykg Hell or High Water was so much more than I expected it to be! I went to see this documentary merely because I am a huge NRG fan and was blown away at how well done it was. Even if you've never watched a single derby bout, you would enjoy this film. I laughed, I cried (thanks Rambo Sambo) and I left inspired. Because of this film, I work harder at the gym. I skate harder at rec league. I don't give up as easily. I cannot wait to watch Hell or High Water again and to show it to my daughter who skates with Nashville Junior Roller Derby. I knew the women of NRG were tough athletes before, but after seeing the film, my respect has turned into awe. Thank you for making such a wonderful documentary!
capricorn1946 HELL OR HIGH WATER is an insider's view of the struggles and successes and the disappointments and the triumphs of a wonderful collection of strong women who love the sport of flat track derby racing. These women are competitive, funny, entertaining, passionate, disciplined and athletic while retaining their feminine character. They are wonderful role models for the modern girl. The audience at the Nashville premiere added to the experience of this movie. Make no mistake, the fans of the Nashville Roller Girls make hockey fans look like guests at the Queen's tea social. Mothers...take your daughters to see this film. Fathers....take your sons and explain to them this is what REAL women are all about.
