morganstephens512 This movie could have been at least 15 minutes shorter than it actually was. The movie really slows down during the second act of the game. This movie had a few good things in it, but on the whole the movie just wasn't all that interesting of film to watch on a general level. It wasn't all that bad and I would never say that it was terrible, but I just feel like you could have removed so much, and gotten rid of a few of the filler bits. However, the visuals are still great and the acting is better here. Those are two things that get better with each movie. The visuals are obvious, but the acting is an improvement that is very welcome to make the film good enough to watch even with the boring bits.

leptir_bez_krila The first Harry Potter movie broke some big records and started one of the biggest and beloved film franchise of all time. And this movie improved almost on everything the first gave us. In this movie you can clearly see that the main cast is transforming into great actors. Daniel, Emma and Rupert are really good in this movie, and so is the supporting cast too. The great new addition comes in the form of Kenneth Branagh who plays Professor Gilderoy Lockhart. He is one of the highlights in this movie, and is a great comedic element in it. He steals every scene he is in it. He's such a disgusting character but you cannot help yourself, and love that brilliant character. The story is more mature than in the first movie. I would call the movie a horror movie for children. There's a lot of twist and turns that keep you entertaining through this very long movie. And this is the longest of the Harry Potter movies, clocking at 161 minute. But you don't feel it, every minute is entertaining. The story is really well done, wrapped with suspense, adventure and mystery. The negativities I had in the first movie (little bit of 3rd act and CGI) are gone in this one. Every act in this movie is stable. The CGI is incredible improved, and not only that, but after 14 years, this movie looks absolutely incredible. The flying car scene is one of the biggest highlights of the movie. And the House Elf Dobby is incredible to look at, even in 2016. I would even dare to say this version of Dobby looks better than the Deathly Hallows one when it comes to CGI. And the final battle with the basilisk, again, firework for the eyes. This is Chris Columbus second Harry Potter movie, and the direction is, like in the first one, good. He knows what he wants. He's a great visionary director, a talent very important for a series like Harry Potter, full of CGI and action. The cinematography is improved too. This is a very good looking movie. But speaking about the technical stuff of the movie, the real winner is John Williams score. I said that the first Harry Potter movie had one of the best scores of all time, and John didn't disappoint this time either. Such a magnificent and beautiful score this is. And I have to mention this, this movie didn't get any nomination at the Oscars in 2003. This movie, without a doubt, was snubbed for Best Score and Best Visual Effects. This movie is almost without any flaws. The high quality of the movie sticks to the end. I only can recommended this movie to anyone. This is truly one of the best family movies of all time, and maybe the best Harry Potter movie too.+ Incredible CGI for that time + Story and Characters + Fantastic Music from John Williams 10/10

Uriah43 This film essentially begins where its predecessor "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" left off with "Harry Potter" (Daniel Radcliffe) leaving the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the summer. Naturally, since his only living relatives weren't very nice to him previously he dreads the thought of spending staying with them. Sure enough, they waste little time in making his life miserable and doing everything they can to prevent him from conversing with his friends or going back to Hogwarts. Then one day he gets a visit from a goblin named "Dobby" (voice supplied by Toby Jones) who also does everything he can to prevent him from going back as well—and the reason is more sinister than either of them realize. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that I thought this sequel was just as good as the movie before it due in large part to the darker and more intriguing plot. However, like the first film, it does run a bit long (161 minutes) so that might be one consideration for those wishing to watch it. Even so, it was still quite enjoyable and I have rated it accordingly. Above average.

stormhawk2018 Here's round two of the adventures of young wizard Harry Potter and friends. While not a terrible movie, this one is probably my least favorite and the most forgettable. It's more faithful than the previous film, but that's not entirely a good thing, as this one really drags, and, at this point, it's not quite necessary yet since the books didn't start getting really detailed, ambitious, and overblown until part 4. Columbus returns as director, and this time we follow 12 year-old Harry going through his second year of schooling. As if rival students, menacing teachers, and loads of schoolwork weren't enough, things start getting dire at school when people are found petrified like statues, threats are written on walls in blood, and a monster is on the loose. Even a gifted wizard like Harry may have some serious trouble coping. I can appreciate that they were trying to be more faithful to the book, but they might have been too faithful. It's my least favorite entry, and, while it's not boring, it's just not gripping enough, I feel, to warrant a film of such length. At least the film is good about balancing the tone fairly well. All the actors are fine, and they are only getting better and more comfortable with the characters with each new entry. Harris made his swan song here as Dumbledore, but his replacement in part 3 takes up the mantle with ease. All in all, a decent movie, but like I said, probably my least favorite.
