Luis Gamez I like dumb action comedies, you just sit back and have a hearty laugh at all the goofiness that goes on then doze off when you get bored, there's no better way to relax after a stressful day.This movie is nothing like that. I thought it was from just looking at the trailer, but the truth is I was really intrigued by the plot from start to finish. I keep seeing other reviews where people call this a comedy, a dark one even, but I feel like the only comedic character was the protagonist, and there was nothing dark about the humor he portrayed. Some of the other characters are even outright scary, so unlike other action comedies you actually feel like our main man is in real danger. Not only that, but he actually goes through some serious character development, which is something I've never seen in a regular comedy. I mean here you have this clueless goody-two shoes who resents all the 'bad' people who have it better than him, and believe me I was not rooting for this guy at all, just felt sorry really. But as the movie went on I got to see the real struggle in his heart as his situation gets worse and worse, then somewhere along the way I started feeling like I knew where he was coming from.It's sad to see people trying to compare this to other movies, like they were trying to make Sicario with a hint of Forrest Gump and a dash of Rush Hour, something like that. But you can clearly tell this movie actually stands on its own, with a tightly woven plot, solid characters, and plenty to reflect upon. Though I have to admit, I don't know what genre this movie fits in either, but whatever it is, I think this is one of its best pieces.

killerkyleftw No idea why it has such a low rating, possible because it's supposed to be a comedy. It's certainly not a comedy, but it is a very good movie. I was skeptical at first, but found myself locked in to 'Harold' and relating with him on a lot of situations throughout the movie. Would recommend watching if you're in the mood for an uplifting, quirky, off the wall sort of movie.

lukyboy1 This movie was pretty good. I did not have much expectation do to the ratings and some of the reviews. It was a fun movie, with comedy and action all in one. David Oyelowo was great as Harold. All in all good movie to relax and eat popcorn.

Trupiaar Movies like this are supposed to be focused on the circumstances, a one-off, nothing deep, and this was well achieved with Gringo. I laughed at some appropriate moments, nothing felt unbelievable, and the lead was likeable. Basic stuff, but basic stuff not done poorly.Worth the time.
