Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

Tom Dooley Griff (Ryan Kwanten) is a nerd. He works in an office where he is bullied by the alpha male and spends his time fighting crime – imaginary crime – in a rubber suit with a gig 'G' on the front. His brother has been looking out for him but is despairing of his nocturnal habits and the costume he wears.Then Melody is introduced into his life. She is supposed to be his brother's girlfriend but finds an affinity with the nervous younger brother instead. She also has 'issues' the belief that she can align her molecules with those of a wall and thereby pass through it, being an obvious quirk. This film is essentially about people with mental issues and is not a super hero film per se. It is also not really very funny, but on the relationship part it actually scores reasonably well. The acting is all fine and for a small budget film it does not seem to suffer but I felt it could have been funnier, or it may be my sense of humour as a lot of folk have said they did find it to be a laughathon. That aside it is still a reasonable watch and does have its heart in the right place.

guyrowlanduk-1 6.1/10 at time of writing? This monstrous injustice cannot be allowed to stand.This is indeed an absolute joy of a film. I can see why the Kick Ass comparisons, but this is a vastly superior film. In fact, along with The Incredibles, I'd put it as only the 2nd good superhero film post 2000. First time writer / director Ford pitches the tone just right, slyly playing his hand with good humour and a good heart. The cast in general do well, but our two leads stand out. Maeve Dermody in particular is instantly engaging and totally sells a potentially tricky part. How international success has eluded her is something of a mystery. As with all good films, it's best to know as little about the plot as possible. Suffice it to say its a film for anyone who ever felt they didn't really fit in.This has cult-classic written all over it. Hope all involved all get the recognition they deserve, however belatedly.

Travis Greene AFter readying a lot of things about this film, I was excited to give it a try. The first twenty minutes had pricked my curiosity, as I really enjoyed Griff's character at the time and the chemistry in the office. However, the plot takes awkward and jerky turns to try to get to the ultimate point: that Griff is mentally handicapped. It's easy enough to follow, but the second half of the film seems to be confused as to whether it wants to be a comedy or a drama, and makes the pot worse by sprinkling in random "philosophy" on life, copping out at the end, using terrible transitions, and ending with the worst song in the soundtrack. This film had potential, but hardly any of it was tapped.

Jason Jessel I had my reservations about this movie, being more than a little wary about any super-hero movie made this year. All my predictions about this movie came true. The plot seemed silly, the script made me cringe, and the acting could have been better. Or so I thought. It turns out that one of the lead characters, the brother, expressed the same sentiments throughout the movie, and that's when I realized I had misunderstood the movie. It was deliberate.The movie "Super" was similar in that respect, and if not for my policy of watching a movie till the end no matter what, I would have walked out in the middle both times. Super was a non-mainstream movie, that broke all the rules of action movies, and at times seemed to more a poor parody of the genre. The ending redeemed it though; I loved it.Here too, the ending redefined what this movie set out to be. Not a super-hero movie, not action, definitely not comedy, and not quite romance. But for all those people complaining that Hollywood has nothing new to offer, I strongly urge you to check this one out
