Move starts off slow, with a couple that's hard on their luck and then something shocking happens. There is un convincing b level acting by A level actors. You would think that the performance would be a lot better considering their other movies, but I have a feeling they were just doing this movie just because it was paycheck and their schedules had some gaps so they signed on. Bad guys come looking for something they find in their house. Soon the movie becomes Home Alone, the R-Rated version. In this version of Home Alone, the bad guys don't just fall down stairs and burn their hands, the bad guys die horrible, ruthless deaths.

Don't listen to these boring American reviews regarding this thriller!!! I thought both two leading cast members were great as the American everyday next door neighbors living in London. The plot was great and it actually did keep me interested regardless of the ups and downs of the acting. James Franco was very good as the supportive actor/Husband and Kate Hudson..WOW amazing lead!! where has she been over the last 10 years!!!Bad ass yanks living in London, no spoilers!! The detective was very charming and a great overall love story etc LDN TOWN STYLE :D :D :D definitely worth the watch 9/10

"Good People" goes from your typical direct to video thriller to just plain absurd. James Franco and Kate Hudson play Tom and Anna, an American couple living in London going through tough financial times. They find the tenant renting out their basement dead, and while cleaning out his belongings they stumble onto a bag full of 220,000 Pounds. What they don't know is that the dead guy double crossed the established drug boss and stole this money while they were stealing it from a rival drug dealer. Tom and Anna get into serious trouble when both sides go to them for the money, which they've been hiding and spending. Tom Wilkinson plays the only detective in London that's willing to help them. The acting is okay. It's refreshing to see Franco and Hudson in more serious, toned-down roles. Although they are playing two very stupid people their performances are solid. But as the movie goes on, not only are the bad decisions these characters make questionable, so is the story. It gets even harder to buy as you approach the neat predictable ending. Good performances and a good start aren't enough to save this movie.

Based on a novel by Marcus Sakey, adapted for the screen by Kelly Masterson and directed by Henrik Ruben Genz, GOOD PEOPLE just doesn't make it. And that is sad as it has two very fine actors (James Franco and Tom Wilkinson) and a beautiful actress (Kate Hudson). But the story is lame and predictable and not very interesting – an American couple, childless, moves to London when the husband's relative dies and leaves him her home. They live on very little and finally find funds when a renter dies and a half million dollars falls into their hands. Of course not telling the police about it leads to problems and a boring 90 minutes later they ultimately get some of the stolen money courtesy of the detective they lied to and also find out they are finally pregnant. To grim a story for Hallmark but in every other way this trite film tries to have a moral. Too bad Franco and Wilkinson agreed to add this to their resume. It is pretty sad. Grady Harp, November 14
