The Worst Film Ever

Memorable, crazy movie

Great Film overall

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Here we go again. Hollywood (and the USA) once was a place of dreams, justice, truth and bravery, now it's a political issue, a vehicle for disgusting, aggressive, ignorant, intolerant propaganda to push the nationalistic (yes, like in N...) wish to be great again - or better to show itself better than any other nation. This should and could have been a fun and educative teen movie about tolerance, but instead, even in an Alien movie, Hollywood cannot not slander Europe/Germany by letting the Alien (which is trying to show them their intolerant, hateful ways - ironic) talk with a German accent, by letting the characters insanely chant "USA, USA..." and cheering about sustaining their intolerance, fighting off the person trying to show them their ignorance and intolerance and being as propagandistic as can be. If there is any Nazis/Nazi-like behavior, it can be found in Hollywood/USA. In violently trying to make America great again, Hollywood is successively destroying everything that once made America great, that people all over the world admired, who now cannot find any reason anymore to further defend such aggressive, arrogant behavior - other nations overcome their flaws, the USA broadens them and celebrates this approach. A shame.

Welcome to the town of Dillford where if Zombies and Vampires don't live in peaceful harmony with humans at least they've arrived at a somewhat peaceful co-existence. But that gets threatened by aliens who arrive at the small peaceful town and cordon off the place with a force field. In the end it's up to human kid Nicholas Braun, vampire girl MacKenzie Davis and zombie boy Josh Fadem to save Dillford and the human race from some other Freaks Of Nature. What are the aliens after? Seems like the main industry of the town is this factory which produces some kind of food the closest of which in the world of cinema would be Soylend Green. Kind of like that famous Married With Children episode where the alien ship is powered by the stink of Al Bundy's socks. The factory is run by multi-millionaire Dennis Leary who is making pure profit here because he employs zombie labor and they work cheap. He's the best thing in Freaks Of Nature.Freaks Of Nature has some amusing moments, but ultimately it's a vacuous teen comedy and you really have to have the IQ of a zombie to really get into it.

There are NO spoilers in my review. This is my first ever review on IMDb which I'm doing because I enjoyed Freaks of Nature so much and I can't believe this movie is rated so low.The only thing negative thing I could say is that the pace did slow down in the middle but it picks up again and I think it needed that slower (read less action) middle for character exposition which gives the movie more heart and left me feeling good rather than just being a completely action filled type of movie with less emotion and soul. I used to like horror but I grew out of it and am not a fan of torture porn horrors - I like gore but only if it's done in a cheesy way in a movie where it is over the top and meant to be funny. It's like that in this film (not extremely excessive but fairly gory) and adding the aliens made the story, action and humor even better. There isn't much 'scary' horror in this.If you liked Evil Dead 2 and 3, Buffy, Angel, Evil Aliens, Beyond Re-Animator etc then you might like this movie too.

Freak of Nature was an awesome movie. They put zombies, vampires, and aliens all in the same movie, and made it work. We laughed a lot, there were a lot great moments. A guy gets clotheslined by a clothesline! A zombie lost his arm and then used it to high five. They put all the elements together and they worked. Don't expect any realism or serious plot, this movie is pure entertainment. Supporting cast were excellent, the big draw for us was Joan Cusack, she never fails to disappoint. Dennis Leary was great as the owner of Ribblet Factory, the towns claim to fame, and the reason for the alien attack. If you loved Zombies of Mass Destruction, or The Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse you will love this movie too.
