Vashirdfel Simply A Masterpiece
Matrixiole Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
mattmoore90 awful, i was forced to watch this unrealistic account of the events of 9/11 for part of my media course and by the end, i wanted to quit my media course and move to Tibet to become a Buddhist monk leaving behind what i believe to be the end of Western Civilization. The characters are unbelievably patriotic and wooden. Especially the man who tried to stand up to the terrorists in his unrealistic, calm, America idealistic manner and in return got stabbed, if i was on that plane and witnessed that, it wouldn't be the terrorists stabbing him, it would be me. Now in the real events i have researched what happened and found that poor man was stabbed without knowing what was going on. Now being an American production they felt the unnecessary need of presenting him as an American hero that stood up to the terrorists. It's pathetic, Americans once again trying to rewrite history so its looks as though they have gained a victory from the tragic events, you lost, accept it as a tragedy please.
aarongallagher1 I just watched this film last night, I started quite confused as in the opening credits it said directed by Peter Markle! Surely Paul Greengrass directed it, "perhaps Greengrass was just Producer" I thought. At no point in the entire movie did I think back and question that this was not the Cinematic version. From the outset with the moving introduction of the passengers by means of the ticket machine showing us their names I was in tears. The film never lets up it's emotional hold on the viewer. After I watched the movie I spoke to my girlfriend and told her I had finally watched "United 93" and that we were right when we had watched the pile of "emotion by the numbers" with the heroic uplifting ending that is "World Trade Center" and thought that is not the story of 9/11, THIS FILM IS.Now today I log onto here to see what others thought of this movie and to remind myself of what on earth had beaten this to Best Picture at the Oscars and discover Whoa! this is a TV movie! and not United 93 the celebrated movie. This film for me will always be the movie about those tragic events on 9/11.
hobblegott It was proved shortly after 9/11 that flight 93 landed and was evacuated to a NASA base and the supposed crash site had no debris from a commercial jet, no bodies, even the coroner was quoted as saying, "I stopped being coroner after 20 minutes. Til this day I've not seen one drop of blood. Not one." Your government lied about the entire 9/11 tragedy. In the courts of ancient Greece it was asked, "Who Stands To Gain?" or "Who Profits?" Study the facts and see who really stood to gain from 9/11! WWW.INFOWARS.COM WWW.PRISONPLANET.COM The Government needed a crisis to convince the people to willingly give up their liberty in exchange for safety. Now the painful facts are in. The dark forces of global government are funding, training and protecting terrorist networks worldwide. "911: The Road to Tyranny" documents the ruthless history of governments orchestrating terrorist attacks against their own people to scare them into total submission. In this brutal expose you will witness the birth of a global police state that surpasses Orwell's nightmarish vision. It's all here: the history of government-sponsored terrorism, the modern implementation of fear-based control and, most frightening of all, the New World Order's future plans. This is one film you cannot afford to ignore. The future of free people everywhere is at stake.
Guy Anisimov i rented flight 93 without knowing it is a (tv) film, i was thinking it is actually 'united 93' i am about to watch, the very promising and talked about film that earned a spot on IMDb's top 250 list.i got home and put the DVD on play and what i saw was a very touching and realistic films that tells us a little about the flight passengers and how they dealt with the situation,we see them having the last conversations with their relatives and also the relatives reaction to what happens and the tension they go through all this time when the only thing they can do is hope.for me it was very moving! the first time i found out there are two different films about United 93 and i watched the one that is less good is when entering this site, i was surprised cause i really felt 'Flight 93' was very good.i didn't watch 'United 93' yet but I'm intending to soon.it is understandable that most people wont like to watch two movies that talk about the exact same thing, no matter what that thing is and for this i feel bad for 'Flight 93' because there was a great effort making it, an effort that is worth remarking.
