This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

I read the reviews before watching the movie so I knew it was gonna be bad, but because Miesha Tate was on it I had to watch it. I'm a big Miesha Tate fan and a huge MMA fan. It also stars Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm (I think, didn't see much of her in the movie...) so I watched it.But it all went wrong. Nothing worked. I'll not go into every detail saying this was bad because and that didn't work because here, and strangely, the correct and polity thing is to say that it all failed. The viewer struggles to watch the movie, the first half of the movie pushes the inner will of power of the viewer to its limits not to do the logical thing which is just stop watching that thing that is on the screen. It's so bad and illogical and so badly made and so totally nonsense that you almost match Miesha's will of power when the grabbed Holly Holm on that rear neck choke when she won the UFC title, holding on to it and not letting go no matter what. Yes, the viewer really must hold on to his will to watch this entire 'movie', he has to be like a pit bull on a bone. ;)And the second half of it doesn't get better. At all.People can say it's a low budget movie, but the budget was 27 million US dollars. That's not a low budget and could never be an excuse for this to be as badly made as it is and as bad as it is. Have you ever watched Elite Squad (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0861739/)? It was made with 4 million US dollars! Seven times less than that!!!I'll be honest, everyone involved in this thing (it's very hard to call it a movie) should not be a thousand miles near the movie business again, ever again. As for the actors, I know the script and the directing were, how should I say this politely, zero on the scale from 1 to 10, but still, the actors involved must work on their acting skills a lot.So I gave it a 4 out of 10. I was very generous, I overrated it because Miesha Tate is on it.

So being a Miesha Tate fan, i had to watch this movie. The trailer kinda gave me the vibe of a very cheap indy flick, which it is partly but somehow not bad at all for such thing. The story is actually interesting, i did get emotionally involved in it, and if you want to see Miesha Tate movie debut, well she does have a real role in this. Holly Holm? Just a cameo, i guess they put her as the focus of the cover box because of her title win, cause really she is just a cameo. Cyborg is not too much in it either, and her acting is not good, i guess this is to expect as English ain't her first language from the start but thankfully since her role is small, it pass fine. Miesha really surprised me, i wouldn't say she put a "great performance" but she wasn't bad at all in her acting part. The other actress goes from decent to not too good, but they are not bad enough to put the movie in danger of looking awful either. The fights? Well i have read lots of reactions to them and i would say this... They are "passable" if i can say. There not very long, there basics, they do there job OK to advance the plot, but clearly it show the director and fight choreographer are both very inexperienced in filming such things.Movies like Never Back Down for example had much much better fights despite involving actors who are not really fighters. But as weird as it may sound, i had a feeling the fights where not the primary aspect of this movie, it was the plot and how it unfold, and the emotions involved, which surprisingly i got into.So ... maybe its because i had very low expectation but i was pleased with my VOD rental... I would say if you treat this movie as an indy low budget film, it does a decent job. Forget about the 27 million budget on IMDb page, whoever put this is bogus... If the budget was 1 million i would be surprised... There is nothing costly in this movie beside maybe Miesha Tates pay check lol.

"No spoilers"My opinion of the movie "Fight Valley" appears to be different than other reviews written so far. I actually enjoyed a lot of aspects of the movie: I liked Meisha Tate's role as Jabs, even though she is not an actor she performed very well. I wouldn't mind seeing her in future films. Its refreshing seeing a fighter who has the potential to act.I liked Cabrina Collesides who played the role of Jamie, She was believable in her character. For instance, some of the girls it felt forced either the way they dressed or came off as a hardass, Cabrina just fell into the role smoothly like it was really her and not a character. She didn't seem to be "acting" for example, Yanni felt forced and far fetched trying to play a ghetto girl with an attitude. It seemed she did more googling of how to live in the hood then actually being in the hood. And Windsor (that's another thing all together, she was simply NOT good).Gracie, played by Ivy Lashawn Coleman did an amazing job as well. She was very intimidating on screen, always causing trouble and starting beef with the knockaround girls. And she was really pretty.Duke, played by Erin O'Brien was a pleasure to watch on screen. She brought it! She may be tiny but she's got fight. And all of these girls did a great job, so i disagree with some reviews here saying ALL acting sucked, because no not everyone was a shitfest. Windsor was a joke to watch, so maybe because she was the lead and had to carry the film, people don't look at the co-stars or supporting cast who played their roles without looking fake. Bottom line, Jabs, Jamie, Gracie and Duke KICKED ASS, and the score in the film really pumped me up when the fight scenes came about. As a whole, I give this movie an 8/10. Its a good movie (could've been better with the casting of certain roles) but all in all go grab some pizza and sit down and relax and watch this movie.

I think Miesha Tate did a fantastic job with her first acting gig. She was natural and played her role just as though she was training with any one of her MMA peers. I think the other reviews left before mine are a little harsh considering this was a low budget movie you get what you pay for so chill folks. Holly Holm was also good for her first go on screen I wish she was in the movie a little more though. The buzz was all about "CupCake" + "The Preacher's Daughter" just saying maybe Rob Hawk shouldn't have edited down the scenes this much I know there was more to see.. And who on Earth would give speaking parts to "Cyborg" LOL come on now that's not her fault either her job was to look muscular and scary not scare us away with her English - I'm not throwing a dig at her I love her just as much as the other Fighters. I really liked the character JAIME one of the actresses (non fighters) Cabrina Collesides she was fantastic very comfortable on camera and funny as hell with her ghetto slang and lesbian humor. Just like Holly I wish we would have heard and seen more from Cabrina. There were a few casting question marks I had like who would believe the girl who played "Windsor" is only 30 the chick who played her Mom in the film looked younger - slight error there again not digging this actress just the person who cast her in this role in my opinion one of the younger girls should have played "Windsor" like for example "JAIME" / Cabrina. I give this film a 7 out of 10 because I wanted to see more fight scenes the music was fantastic and had me pumped up to see some punches thrown I think too much was put on the story line and not enough action. The hype for this film was the WMMA Fighters should have been more with that. The Serrano Sisters should have had bigger roles too. This film had all the right ingredients all of the right players just incorrect roles and not enough Kick Ass... I hope nobody gets offended by my review... I know most of the cast is actually from New Jersey so chill guys you did the best you could with your situation. Oh and out of the dudes in this film I liked "Stakes" Jefferson Sanders who is a trainer in real life maybe should have pursued a little something there in this film as well. Like I said before all the ingredients for an amazing feature were there they just weren't utilized to their best potential... 7/10 for an honest review. My 4 year old daughter gave it a 10/10 because Miesha Tate + Cabrina Collesides are her Idols put them together in a movie and this girl was in Heaven. You had some serious fighters on board for this how do you not even give the boxing sisters a chance to I don't know BOX - LOL
