Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

Sagot did a good impression of a working father that is inept when it comes to the great outdoors. His character will make you laugh at times also, whenever he makes remarks about the condition of the camp. The Story was OK, however it isn't anything new, but I guess it won't confuse you either. Kids may or may not find it funny, it really depends on them, and if they know Bob Sagot. I found it interesting, but not amazing. Definitely something to watch if your looking for something that has a few laughs and an OK story. All in all, it was good and it isn't to long, so you don't lose anything by watching it - well except about 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Brian Bonsall is a smart actor, but that's that. I have seen this one a few years ago. I remember it having been a more or less average movie. The story was basically good, but the actual transformation on screen was fairly simple and did not match the quality I look for in father-son stories, which belong to my favorites in general. Brian was still decent; he made me watch through the whole movie. I wonder if they could have made a better movie if they'd cast a different guy as his dad. This part was thoroughly miscast. Bob Saget did not fit in here at all, he hampered the advance of the movie's storyline and screwed up the emotional aspect that was subtly addressed.

I've caught this one a few times on TV reruns, I think the reason I decided to watch it was because I had seen the box for it at the local video rental place ten years ago and always wondered what the hell this movie could possibly be about. but anyway.Bob Saget is kind of funny in this one, he goes to this camp with his kid who he doesn't have a close relationship. When he shows up he has a tough time getting used to the great outdoors. Great basketball scene where Saget shows off his hoop skills, that guy is like 6'4''. In the end Saget comes around to the whole nature thing and him and his kid get closer.Yeah, this thing was a big piece of cheese, but its not that bad.

How you'd come across this tomato can I don't know. I was coerced into taping it because "the kids would like it." Guess what? They didn't. Unless you really like Bob Saget there will be essentially nothing in this turkey for you.
