Extreme Prejudice Audience Reviews

Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Walter Sloane Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
SnoopyStyle Larry McRose (Clancy Brown), Buckman Atwater (William Forsythe), Declan Patrick Coker (Matt Mulhern), Charles Biddle (Larry B. Scott), Luther Fry (Dan Tullis, Jr.), and Major Paul Hackett (Michael Ironside) are officially dead soldiers. They are a part of the secret black ops Zombie Unit led by Hackett. Jack Benteen (Nick Nolte) is a no non-sense Texas Ranger and his school friend Cash Bailey (Powers Boothe) has become a drug lord on the other side of the border. Sarita Cisneros (María Conchita Alonso) is Benteen's latina singer girlfriend. Sheriff Hank Pearson (Rip Torn) is the local cop. Bailey offers Benteen a bribe and Benteen counter-offers for him to walk away from his drug empire.Director Walter Hill delivers an unabashed hard action B-movie. It's a throwback. Everybody is doing their hard-edged characters. Forsythe has a bit of fun. I like the murky nature of the Zombie Unit. It's a good B-movie delivering an implausible story and good action.
ray_bradley This film is director Walter Hill's carefully crafted tribute to Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch." The plot line is different, but the underlying theme of men who are anchored to the past and who have outlived their time on earth runs through the film and permeates every (male) character, albeit heavy-handedly at times (hence, my dinging the film down to a 9-star rating). If you like kicking back to a solid testosterone-charged action flick, you'll love this movie. If you are a student of the history and evolution of the collapse of the Hollywood studio system and the rise of independent film-making, and if you also appreciate the genius that Peckinpah demonstrated in many of his later films, I guarantee that you will find this movie to be wonderfully engaging on many levels and well worth a second viewing. With the possible exception of "Hard Times," I think that this is Walter Hill's best work to date.
dworldeater What we have here is one hell of a film. Which goes without saying when you have John Milius writing the script and Walter Hill directing it. Also an ensemble cast that includes Nick Nolte , Powers Boothe , Michael Ironside, Clancy Brown , William Forsythe, Maria Conchita Alonso, the dude who played Lamar in Revenge Of The Nerds and more. Extreme Predudice is pretty much The Wild Bunch set in the 1980's on the U.S./Mexican border . It is almost as good as The Wild Bunch also which is a huge compliment as The Wild Bunch is one of the best films ever made. The pacing on this is quicker. Expect lots of action , great dialogue and stellar performances . Most of Walter Hill 's movies are underrated in my opinion and this is one of his finest works. This is also my favorite western in a modern day setting . I also really like Lone Wolf McQuade, which John Milius wrote also( and is my favorite Chuck Norris film). If you are a fan of action films or westerns this is one movie you should check out.
rightwingisevil this was when nick nolte, power boothe, michael ironside were at their prime, just over forty, all full grown men and their acting performances were also matured like wine. this movie was adapted from a very powerful co-authored paperback novel, then so nicely adapted into a screenplay, then again, got a very good director and top notched production team, the final production, of course, logically turned out to be a power house movie. the tension, the plot twists, the betrayals, the bullshitting patriotism and the self-righteous personal selfish gain, the blind follow-order discipline, the born hostile, the drug cartel, the kingpin, the tough like nail Texas ranger....wow, this was a very dangerous movie full of dynamites and bullets. i didn't think boothe did a better Job after this movie, he, like ironside, turned into a b-movie actor. only nolte continued to survive and prosperous in the big screen movies. this movie also reminded me of the later 'no country for old man' and some of the other similar ones focus movies, such of 'lone wolf mcQuade' franchised by chuck norris in the early 80s.now the border between Mexico and those four u.s. states is changing, the situation also rapidly changed and deteriorating. there are 15' feet high great wall-like steel walls separated these two country, there are several u.s./Mexico border-crossing customs. illegal aliens and drug smugglers/dealers playing cat and mouse games on a 24/7/365 basis. u.s. border patrols got new electronic devices and even predators cruising in the sky. the whole scene and the game plan now have changed into a totally different scenario. this movie also urged me to re-watch the 5 episodes 'border war' produced by the national geography. but i'd say that i like the movies better than the documentary films.
