KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Geoffrey DeLeons This film gives a pretty thorough look at the hard truth about the pharmaceutical/medical industries. It is no place for renegades (Ford's character) or idealists (Fraser's character). Even so, these two unlikely associates, through their reputations, talents and determination, manage to parlay themselves into the world of multi-million dollar clinical trials.Brendon Fraser did a superb acting job, and John Crowley manages to retain his integrity and manners while under intense pressure from several sources. Harrison Ford was not given the chance to flex his muscle, though. If his character had been made to have been a more dynamic and less-misanthropic researcher, the movie would have been more entertaining. I think the director and screenwriter handcuffed Harrison Ford's character a bit. I can forgive this, because I know that in reality, avoidant people like Dr. Stillwell do exist. I also think the audience could have benefited from a little bit more technical talk: There was very little talk of exactly what they were doing in the lab. Never-the-less, Extraordinary Measures is an extremely good film for those of us who appreciate being inspired by our art. Brendan has come a long way from Encino Man, and with Extraordinary Measures, as in the earlier Still Breathing, he shows us once again that he is very good at dramatic roles.One final note: It would have been nice for the screen dialogue at the end of the film to have included some background on the disease and its present numbers. More importantly, we would have liked to have learned more about the present status of the enzyme transport drug: How many have benefited from it? Only infants? How much money does it cost, etc. A movie well worth watching.

Miles burton In this very heart- felt story, comes a film starring two Doctors trying to cure the disease Pompeii. Starring as Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser. This film has moments of sadness, and happiness. But this film was definitely a lot better than I was expecting. With quite terrific performances from both Ford and Fraser, it leaves you thinking just how important a Doctor's work can be. This film is extremely underrated, I first watched it on Netflix and saw that it didn't have that much attention drawn to it, and was a kind of forgotten film, but this film surprised me just how much of an impact it had on me, and im no Doctor, but this film is not one to be missed by anyone.

SnoopyStyle John (Brendan Fraser) and Aileen Crowley (Keri Russell) have two children with Pompe Disease. It's a genetic disease that most can only hope to survive until they're 9. Their daughter Megan just turn 8. They recruit the crotchety researcher Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford), and together they face hurdles and each other as they race to find a treatment.This reminded me of other movies of its kind like 'Lorenzo's Oil'. It's the basic movie of parents heroically battling their children's disease facing insurmountable odds. The three leads do an admirable job. There isn't many surprises or originality in the story. It's fine as an underdog story. It's a good TV movie souped up with first class movie stars.The venture capital part is a bit different, but it's probably not as cinematic as it needs to be. They did as much as they could. Every once in awhile, they stick a knife in like 'Acceptable loss' but it doesn't make it compelling.

kai ringler i really liked this movie,, it tells of a supposedly true story of a couple of children stricken by a rare disease.. Brendan Fraser was better than i thought he would be,, our good dr. is doing research for a rare disease but runs out of funding,, meanwhile our mom and dad have to deal with both of their children stricken with the same disease.. the parents hear of the dr's work and eventually make contact with him asking him for help.. the dad has a decent job and some connections so he talks to his buddies at work, and they start funding the good Dr. in hope he can start running some clinical trials on what he hopes is a cure. but sooner or later, the big medical companies get wind of his work,, the funding runs dry, and well you will just have to watch and see if the good dr. gives in to corporate greed or will he fight the good fight for good and justice. great movie.
