Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.

Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

The actor playing the main character was bad at acting, and the attempts at being cool were just cringey. The acting from the adults was hit and miss, and the whole movie felt boring and forced. The shots were nice looking and the cinematography was not bad, but it lacked any real voice. Low budget movies like Paranormal Activity or The Dirties can be good, because they make up for their low budget with high personality. Expelled is a mediocre to bad movie, and is not cringey enough to be so bad it is good either. It is just bad. Nice try though.

SPOILER THE MOVIE SUCKED.
This movie was the worst movie I have ever witnessed. The story line was horrific, the actors were horrific, the ending was horrific. The plot got no where, taught a terrible lesson, and left the watcher wanting to die. I created this account just to review this sucky movie. I could never fathom a movie to be so stupid. If you want to watch it, don't. You will be greatly disappointed and should invest your time elsewhere. I regret watching the movie and would never want someone to make the same mistake.
I wish you well, I am sorry you have even looked into this movie.

Reviewing this film is like reviewing a song by Justin Bieber, I guess. Some people just love it and some people just hate it.I had no idea who is the boy in the leading role. Or that he is internet famous. I read that a few minutes ago in the Q/A section and some other things before I write this. So, that is why I understand the polarising tones to this.Personally, I enjoyed this film very much. Maybe because that was all I wanted this afternoon - to enjoy, to relay and let me being entertained. This film does exactly that! It is funny, entertaining, light and demands no thinking ... As for acting... I don't think the boy is bad or other members of the cast. It is what it is. I guess if you just want to spend pleasant 90 minutes, this film will do that. I must say I did not laugh a lot but must say that almost entire film was really kinda good mood one. Not bad at all as some ratings might suggest it. OK; we all have different tastes, but, this is not really that awful.I think it would have been better if there was a better soundtrack to the film. Though I am not sure there is any soundtrack to this at all.Eight from me.

You may be confused about the title. But it is actually a very accurate description of this movie because either love it or hate it, it is what it is, MARMITE.Here are the pros and cons about this movie PROS: Funny, but kinds of a mischievous funny, one that you can only be 9-11 to enjoy Sadly I'm over 11 and the comedy is just ridiculous at times. Some decent acting (excluding mentioned in the cons) Kind of funCONS : (See first pro) Some decent acting, but some just plain school play acting. They seemed to be having fun but it is meant to be work, in movies profit/enjoyment of viewers come first and for the profit part - This movie seems to be living off NETFLIX. I never saw it before in any local European cinemas, most likely because this is a cheap movie along with many other low profit movies on there. Scripting is unnatural, for example when there at the school and the horribly plaid main character and his later found girlfriend (who is a delivery girl) mentions that he orders a pizza in a specific day, then he says "Why?", umm maybe because he's hungry. But the writers made home say "let's illegally look through the mirror and catch him gambling so we can end this movie and get our 5$ cheque"So I rated this movie 5/10 Why? Because love it or hate it, It's marmite.
