Best movie of this year hands down!

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

In the summer of 1988, the 6th movie of the official Emmanuelle series entered the silver screen - and it was the last good one, you can easily ignore the cheap sequels of the 1990s dropped on the video market. Austrian model Natalie Uher was the 4th girl to play Emmanuelle in the official series - and she did have the looks! Natalie had posed for Playboy magazine at a very early age, so she was no beginner. The element of the exotic is always important for an Emmanuelle movie, this time locations in Brazil and Venezuela served well for that. The story avoids a close connection with the previous movies by a trick: Emmanuelle suffers from amnesia! She was found in the Amazonian forest, and now she visits a professor who tries to help her. It seems Emmanuelle was on board of a cruise ship, then kidnapped to be sold on a slave market. Fortunately, she had friends including an Indian girl... Uncredited, Jean Rollin directed some scenes for this movie, especially the scene with the snake dance appears to be his surreal style. "Emmanuelle 6" has many beautiful scenes, the love scenes as well as for example the fight of the Indians against the gangsters: flying arrows out of the mysterious blue shadows. Probably it's the most underrated part of the series. I voted 7/8/6/4/6/7 for the six cinema films.

Much better than the usual soft-core, European or not. Natalie Uher is quite beautiful, as are the rest of the girls. American soft-core producers should take notes from this film. Plenty of bare flesh, plus the film almost has a plot! And it's almost good! Grade: B+

Well, the lead actress is very beautiful, that I must say. You know, people'd probably say that when it comes to movies like Emanuelle VI, there isn't much other than the sex scenes, so don't expect Henry V or something. But this movie is too bad even in that standard. The acting is HORRIBLE! So horrible that it makes Keanu Reeves acting look good. :-) OK, so since this movie is a softporn, one should expect much out of the acting. But even the sex scenes suck. There isn't much of anything. Everything seems so fake. One'd probably expect better from the Emannuelle series, but oh well! If you haven't seen it, then you didn't miss much.

Penned by noted ero-gothic horror-meister, Jean Rollin, this 6th installment in the seemingly unending Emmanuelle series steals a page from that other Emanuelle (single M) series starring Laura Gemser in its attempts to blend erotic fantasy and sleazy exploitation with some vague premise involving a drug-lord and white slavery ring. Alas, director Bruno Zincone will never be mistaken for Joe D'Amato (or Just Jaeckin for that matter) and whatever seedy elements contained in Rollin's story are handled in an awkward and haphazard manner. On the plus side, the lovely Nathalie Uher as Emmanuelle certainly is a scrumptious specimen and proves rather adept at removing her clothes whenever the script calls for it (which, fortunately, is quite often, god bless her). Now, if only somebody had bothered to explain to her that acting and modeling are not one in the same, she might have had a future as a B-queen at the very least. Instead, she disappeared into oblivion like so many other pretty faces, but what a pretty face indeed. Nathalie, where for art thou?
