Eddie Ogden is his pa's pride and joy as well as the Groundhogs team's only asset as baseball talent. Then Eddie discovers a taste and talent for cuisine. Although his brothers Andy and Alex, and Pa as well as classmates enjoy his dishes, they only mock cooking, so he arranges and 'accidental' registration for him and two friends in Home Economics. Only Eddie -secretly again- and nerdy shrew Bridget Simons enter a national cooking competition for school-kids. Ma finds out and to his surprise proves supportive, as well as the teacher, who once won the competition herself.

Eddie's Million Dollar Cook Off Audience Reviews

Grimerlana Plenty to Like, Plenty to Dislike
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
questionz_mark I say this is a most exceptional movie showing how hard it is to do something you love to do when your parents don't approve. Most teens will face situations where their parents don't approve of their dreams but they need to support them anyway since it's their life not the parents. Also the movie represents how just because you're a guy it doesn't mean you can't enjoy things normally girls would stereotypically do like cook. Or if you're a girl it does not mean you can't play sports either a.k.a Hannah and her mother. The movie is all about not letting anyone or anything stopping you from doing something you love. Whether it's the ridicule or being shunned. Although most importantly people learn that you will not agree with what your friends do (that's positive not NEGATIVE!) or your family but if they like it you support it if you love them. The actors...for the most part really capture the emotion of embarrassment and shame, but also still keep it in a comedic tone. Music matched the movie, a family feel like tone just like all usual Disney work.
brie416 Maybe I'm just in the wrong age bracket to really get into this film. But for the most part I found it dull and boring. I found myself flipping the channel quite often to see what else was on. That said, I have watched and enjoyed several other recent Disney Channel Original Movies, so it's not just I'm anti-Disney.Taylor Ball did a good job as the lead and Orlando Brown did a good job with his supporting part. The other boy (whose name I don't know) who played his friend was pretty good as well. But some of the other acting left a lot be desired. I particularly thought the girl who played Bridget was not a great actress. The plot was contrived. I couldn't understand why the whole school would get so worked up about him liking cooking. They might make fun of him, but if he really was the star baseball player I doubt they would have gotten angry with him like that. And I found myself not caring at the end what would happen, even though I knew they would eventually win the baseball game. And like others have said, the baseball games were quite unrealistic. Not a bad movie, just not great. It sends a good message to kids about pursuing your dreams and doing what you like to do, but the message itself comes across pretty heavy handed.
moviefan15 Very good movie. It is a good movie involving what many teenagers go through today: making the right decisions. It also shows how Eddie was afraid to tell his father the truth, for fear of being ridiculed. This movie hits home with what many teenagers go through today. I would recommend this movie.
limited2ev This movie has many flaws and a pretty crappy plot line, but for some reason I liked it. It really bothered me that they showed the identical baseball play 4 times... and that this "baseball prodigy", Eddie, hadn't figured out yet to put his whole foot against the side of first base (maybe I'm just aniel because I play 1st base...). Anyway, besides that, for some reason you like this Eddie dude, even though he has the strangest fetish for cooking. I guess I liked all the characters really... but the plot line and realisticness (is that a word?) was really bad. I would recommend to watch it, its good for a few laughs, especially where he's making his "original recipe", the purple goo bar-b-q sauce. YUM.
