A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

Andy Lau has long been a favourite of mine. He is handsome, funny, and can hold his own in many action scenes, not to mention the man never seems to age!Around the late 80's and early to mid 90's, Andy Lau was popping out many films per year that would put most Hollywood actors to shame. The fantastic Dragon In Jail is one of them!Brutal, well acted and focusing more on realistic action as opposed to kung fu, Dragon In Jail is quite dark in many ways, with Andy playing an innocent man who gets pulled in to the dark side for all the wrong reasons.Once in jail, Andy meets Kenny Ho and they both become best friends which serves them both well throughout their journey. But it isn't all heavy drama and prison scenes. On the outside, we have a host of brutal triad battles that lead to a hard hitting ending that keeps you on the edge until the last scene.Directed by Kent (Fatty) Cheng, Dragon In Jail may not be recognised around the world much like Infernal Affairs and such, but it is well worth the watch!Fantastic show!
