Leofwine_draca Seabound thrills ahoy in this contemporary British thriller, made with a youthful cast and shot in just 24 days in exotic locales. In essence, it's a straightforward psychological thriller that takes much of the ideas in its plot from the likes of DEAD CALM and VERY BAD THINGS, although it doesn't rival those two movies in terms of the amount of thrills on offer. There's a kind of lunkheaded, teenage anything-goes attitude in this movie, as revealed by the cast members who will literally do anything for the next thrill. It's all rather unpleasant, over the top and jaded, as none of the thrill-seekers are remotely likable or interesting so you end up sitting around and waiting for the next person to bite it.Things begin with a slow build up, which is hard to watch. That's because the realistic script means the protagonists are typically vain, self centred and unappealing. Then we move onto a sex scene that might better be called an 'orgy', which pushes the boat in terms of explicitness before ending with the titular act, which is not quite as shocking as you'd think. Tempers and attitudes then spiral out of control as each character reveals his or her weakness: some become paranoid, some go crazy, some are consumed by guilt and others turn literally homicidal. A taut dining sequence ensues with an expertly violent climax, there's an excellent interlude where a flare gun is put to fine use, plus a gratuitous scene of torture which is fairly compelling as it explores the lengths an ordinary person will go to when they're desperate. The climax becomes a little over the top (the outboard motor scene recalled The Texas Chain Saw Massacre for me) and then ends abruptly, but is not without merit.Director Oliver Blackburn – this is his first proper work – handles the thrills and suspense with efficiency if not courage, but he fails to bring any real style to the proceedings, giving this film the look of an average HOLLYOAKS episode. The youthful cast give it their all, and despite their relative inexperience (other than Ray Winstone's daughter Jaime, most have had just bit parts in various British TV series) they do a pretty good job. This is a film that breaks no new ground – and indeed isn't really worth more than a single watch – but it delivers the goods ably enough.

FlashCallahan Three girls carefree Med holiday morphs into a picturesque nightmare over the gruelling course of one terrifying night at sea. It began as a fun night out on the town, but after meeting three lads in a nearby club, the girls make the fateful mistake of joining the men for a hedonistic party at sea. Unwisely climbing aboard the borrowed yacht with the men as the sexual tension increases, the girls realise that their misstep could very well be their last after a freak accident claims the life of one, and the argument over how to handle the situation leads to a vicious struggle for survival........Sex with strangers can kill!!!!!! That's the fundamental message of this movie, which becomes increasingly mundane after every viewing. The titular act is explained, and done during the firsts act of the movie, which still holds up. It's fun, the characters are likable, and it's lovely to look at.But it soon goes downhill from there. The characters turn into completely different people, the helpless become little Rambos, the lads become Patrick Bateman-esque, and because of this, it all becomes just too unbelievable, and it has such a wonderful set up.It's looks as though the writer has tried to update Dead Calm for the meta generation, but after a while gave up and tried to turn it into a horror movie.It doesn't work, and despite the brilliant cast, the feeling of entrapment and claustrophobia that you would expect from a movie like this, just isn't there.A wasted opportunity.

ChorusL106 I came across this film while randomly looking over IMDb and was intrigued by it (not by the title, I had no idea what a donkey punch was before watching). I thought it was pretty good and entertaining. In my opinion, I thought the players did a good job with their characters, particularly the lead actress. I thought the gentleman who played Josh was also very deft. I enjoyed his portrayal of the seemingly-naive law student who ends up executing the most damage and using his knowledge of the legal system (maritime law is really awesome) to create fear and tension among the rest of the group. Generally, I thought the switch the characters made between sanity and crazy was compelling and interesting. I was a little disappointed with the gore, as I was hoping for a lot more. In my humble opinion, I wouldn't call it a slasher flick, no categorize it as horror. It was really a thriller and nothing more. The killings were not really all that ingenious or clever in my mind, only one, maybe two, made my eyebrows rise.Other reviewers have made negative comments about the setting, but I thought the luxury yacht was really wonderful. No doubt, it's most likely been over-used, but killing is so much more exciting and cool when it's executed on a fancy boat, don't you think? The maritime setting also added the great, claustrophobic element to the story. In all honesty, I thought the boat and the Mediterranean combined to make a great setting because it fought against the later-ensuing madness. Things were just lovely and marvelous on this fancy boat in the middle of the world's most beautiful body of water, good booze, sex with hot people, good drugs (if you like that sort of thing), gorgeous weather . . . and then all of a sudden it's the complete opposite. I liked how the desirable turned into the unwanted. I thought the sexual content was actually quite well placed and appropriate. For sure, it is pretty explicit (whoever said it was tame is probably addicted to porn), but to me it didn't feel gratuitous or out of place, i.e. meant to get heterosexual males in the theater seats. It really brought out the nasty, hedonistic feel the story needed. I think it also was an appropriate way to introduce the turning point in the film, as the nudity and sexual activity introduced a vulnerability to the characters that made the shocking act seem all the more bizarre and horrific. Plus, the sex scenes were pretty hot. One last item I would note is the apt use of instrumental underscore. I think this was one film that made excellent use of music. The instrumental scores well fit the action and matched the mood precisely. For whatever reason, that really made my viewing experience much greater. I also thought the lighting and cinematography was pretty decent for such a low budget film. Overall, I liked it. I thought the acting was above average, the setting compelling, and the story worth one's time. I would recommend it, but you probably will be fine with one viewing.

Xombie The title says it all: "donkey punch" is punching a girl on the back of the neck while having "doggy-style" sex to increasing sexual pleasure. (I'm a bit confused with this one. because i always thought it was a punch to the rib/kidney area.) You'll think to yourself "What a stupid movie!" yeah i thought so too. But then again, if you're into a lot of nudity, sexual acts and violence, this thriller is for you! it's so-so in regards to acting. The insanity begins when "sexual acts" becomes the main topic of conversation and curiosity peeks it's ugly head. The situation the group faces is no joke, accidents do happen. Especially when under the influence of heap-loads of drugs and alcohol. "Sex Trip gone Bad"
