A different way of telling a story
AnhartLinkin
This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

When I bought this I was really looking forward to the combination of an Eddie Bunker (No Beast So Fierce/Straight Time, Animal Factory, Runaway Train) story directed by Paul Schrader and featuring Willem Defoe in what seemed a great combination. Unfortunately it's a substandard crime flick with meandering plot, over the top and outdated editing (Think Tony Scott a decade ago, only badly done) and a bizarre ending. I paid £1.00 GBP for a used Bluray and feel short changed. Only completists and Die Hards need view this poor offering.

THIS IS MY VERY FIRST REVIEW!!
I just felt the urge to write one for this movie. I was never a big Cage fan and I don't think he's a very good actor but i dig him.... kinda like Keanu Reeves or Christopher Lambert, all kinda emotionless shitty actors but very enjoyable in certain types of films.
I don't know what people expect from this movie (i'ts not supposed to be serious) but if you looking for a DARK COMEDY that packs a punch. Don't miss out on this one!
Definintely worth watching!!PS:
reviews like "I am a fan of Nicholas Cage"... "is your time over?"
Are you serious?! Cage made tons of crappy movies but this one is none of them

When a movie by Paul Schrader comes out, you know it will entertain and be good......so what happened to Dog Eat Dog? He did'nt write the screenplay to this one, and maybe he should have.
The film of three ex cons stealing and killing is not a film that the audeince can relate to or even feel for the characters. Hollywood loves to show realism by having actors do the coke thing. You know the scene, sitting at the table with a credit card sorting the coke out, then drawing it in thru the nose.....Been done a hundred times and its boring.
But why does the film rate a "zero"? Because of the ending scenes. Nicolas Cage's character is handcuffed to a police car and dragged around at speed. The next scene we see him hi jack a car with an elderly couple. THe director does not want to explain how he got away? Or did he think the the paying public would not notice.
Next, Cage is driving the car and a fog appears out of nowhere, and in this fog a police car appears with sirens blazing. The police had infra red see thru fog glasses. What a load of crap. All of the reviws are blaming Nicolas Cage fro his performance. The actors were all great. The producer, writer and director are to blame for this rubbish.. We are not stupid Mr. Schrader, you conned us into coming to see this movie. Shame on you all

A crew of ex-cons are hired by a Cleveland mafioso to kidnap the baby of a rival mobster. I knew that Dog Eat Dog was going to be awful from just the opening shot of Willem Dafoe sitting on the couch inside a purple house where then he goes to the bathroom gets incredibly high then 2 fat ladies come out a woman and her daughter, then the fat woman basically finds out that Dafoe likes porn a lot and she tells him to get out of her house, he chooses to slice her neck and start stab her some more, Nicolas Cage grabs the tits of some stripper and i don't remember much after that cause i started skip scene after scene. In fact i don't know which film is worse: Arsenal or Dog Eat Dog? Probably both what i'm trying to say is that you don't need to see this film like never i mean never cause i saved you some cash. (0/10)
