I like fart gags as much as the next guy but when one of the three jokes your movie repeats over and over again is a joke about farting and you have more farts and puppet nudity per minute than you do actual intelligent commentary in your film that is suppose to be a parody of "Armageddon," then you failed completely. The art of the parody is a difficult thing and the creators responsible for this film proved that it is an art they will never master. You have to have some level of respect for what you are parodying and be able to break it down so you can reconstruct it with a humorous edge. This movie was just a knee-jerk reaction to the disaster movie genre that went for all the obvious commentary that your everyday guy makes about films like "Deep Impact" and "Armageddon." There was no intelligence to this film and, instead, it's just a never-ending collection of bad gags and humor so immature that it brought the bar for sophomoric and juvenile humor to a new low. In fact, the film was so dumbly put together and the jokes were so eye-roll inducing that the movie actually made itself feel like IT was the genre film and "Armageddon" was the parody. That's right, "Armageddon" looked more intelligent and funny by comparison. Then, as if the producers want to make sure you know that all they cared about was making sure they got another fart joke in and played out their sexual fantasies by shoe-horning in another shot of female puppet nudity, the animation looks grotesque and all the characters move around like they are suffering from constant seizures and some of the character designs look like they just suffered some life-altering facial deformity and might have a future as a Batman villain.Overall, this is a film that should come with a warning label that reads, "Unless you want to lose all hope of ever laughing or feeling any sort of happiness and joy again, avoid this movie and run as fast as you can away from it. Then…approach is slowly from behind and destroy it with fire so that no one may ever suffer through it again." It's rare I get this irritated with a comedy but I would like to believe that the world in general has a better sense of humor than this.Hey there! Feel like reading more of my rants, ramblings, bad jokes (but still better than anything in this film) and reviews? If so, then you can head on over to my blog; revronmovies.blogspot.com. If you don't and probably hate me because you think "Disaster!" is hilarious, it's probably for the best you don't go to my blog…I don't want to read your hateful comments or death threats.

I watched this film last night expecting to see something along the lines of 'Southpark' or 'Team America' since the movie was described as 'hilarious' adult animation. Either my definition of hilarious is different to the reviewers or they have the sense of humour of a 12 year old.Utterly terrible in all but the standard of the claymation animation, if fart-gags, terrible innuendo, racial stereotype based jokes and puppet nudity are your thing, you'll love it. If you've passed puberty, you'll probably hate it.As I said the only 'good' thing about the movie is the animation, along the lines of 'celebrity deathmatch', I can't fault the animators talents.

"Disaster! The Movie" is a weird mix of the profound and the profane. The profound: a good reflection of our own reflection (ref. Borat's humor). The very fact that the movie's stereotypes and clichés can be funny at times says something about our own values/views of the world. (Guilty...I laughed out-loud at times.) The profane: fart jokes, racism, sexism, homophobia, lackluster plot. Although the plot was soft, the writers have a good eye for those nonsensical sensibilities which seem to SELL and which have been so deadly to quality movies. Also; terrific animation, production values and talented voices. The "Director's Comments" and"Behind-the-Scenes" extras are interesting. If you like "South Park"and "Team America", then give it a try.

At first, I had my reservations about this movie. I wasn't a big fan of Team America:World Police, and I had heard that this was along a similar vein. Fortunately, I decided to see it anyway, and I laughed harder than I have in a long time. Don't get me wrong, this movie is offensive to just-about every demographic imaginable, but it is in a tongue in cheek way, as opposed to a mean-spirited way. If you can't stand foul language, sex, graphic violence, nudity, and racial stereotypes acted-out by clay figures, then this movie is not for you. But, if you have a sense of humor, like Naked Gun-like physical comedy, and witty, biting dialog, then you must see this movie!
