It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

In a floating research facility, scientists are exploring a possible cure for Alzheimer's Disease. This involves genetically modifying the brains of Mako sharks, making them super-intelligent, and much larger than normal. There are three of these sharks at the facility. Then, after a freak accident, the sharks escape. Worse still, the facility is sinking...Mostly your average creature-horror movie, which is not a good thing. Plot is pretty basic: pretty standard setup for disaster, one-dimensional, cartoonish characters and some incredibly cheesy dialogue (LL Cool J gets the worst of it, with some ridiculous lines). So, on the surface, nothing going for it. Yet, the story is strangely compelling. The reason for this the unpredictability of it. You can usually judge who the heroes are going to be by who among the actors has a bigger name. This movie breaks that formula, killing off people you thought would last to the final scene. Some great red herrings. Makes for some wonderfully unexpected moments. Also means that it is not a given that there is going to be a happy ending, making it more interesting. So, better than your average creature-horror, though not that this says much.

Deep Blue Sea is an action horror film released in 1999. The film was directed by Renny Harlin. In a place in the sea called Aquatica, the place was a place led by Dr. Susan McAlester did her genetic engineering of four mako sharks, without realizing that the genetic record brought havoc to those in the place, the sharks became very savage, aggressive, and dangerous, because the shark's brain grew due to genetic engineering. Can they stop that vicious shark ??? This film is very entertaining, tense, solid acting, charming character, creepy accompaniment music. Deep blue sea is the best shark film of all time.

Great movie of sharks. U don't see many shark movies that are good. This one is. It's an 6 out of 10, but 1 star taken away cause of some terrible graphics.

seems like it might have been an amusing sci fi monster movie type thing.... but just too incredibly stupid. What a complete waste of Samuel L. Jackson's time (the only actor whose performance wasn't nausea inducing). I have to say I loathe, completely and utterly, Michael Rappaport, because every time I see him in a movie he plays the exact same obnoxious over-acting repulsive character. So that made this awful movie even worse imo. Don't bother with this gut-wrenchingly banal waste of matter. Watch "Jaws" if you're looking for a shark themed horror flick.
