If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

This is an astonishing documentary that will wring your heart while it bends your mind

I went into this movie expecting to be educated and entertained...in this age of political correctness and constant skepticism that we live in I'll watch anything that will help shed some light into this darkness. What I got was an unexpected nap...AVOID!

DARK MONEY, a political thriller, examines one of the greatest present threats to American democracy: the influence of untraceable corporate money on our elections and elected officials. The film takes viewers to Montana--a front line in the fight to preserve fair elections nationwide--to follow an intrepid local journalist working to expose the real-life impact of the US Supreme Court's Citizens United decision. Another bad documentary that was made only for political issues and tries to benefit from that, please just skip it now. (0/10) (F)

My wife and I watched this marvelous documentary at the Sundance Film Festival last night. It is extremely well done and it presents a compelling narrative about the role of "dark money" (political funds that cannot be traced to their source) in contemporary American politics. Flawed campaign financing laws lie at the heart of many of our difficult political problems. Kudos to Kimberly Reed and everyone involved in producing this gem.
