Cruel Intentions Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
PodBill Just what I expected
Siflutter It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
pugslikepizza From the characters to the plot to how everything escalated is just bad. Like dramatic hypocriticaly bad if that's even possible. Sorry
marieltrokan The 1999 adaptation, Cruel Intentions, is a film which is an error that doesn't deserve to be betrayed - an injury that doesn't deserve to be betrayed. It shouldn't make any sense, that an injury can have the right to be honoured. An injury is pain, and it's grief and it's loss. A loss is intolerable, in actual fact - so Cruel Intentions actually translates to being a film which is an intolerance that doesn't deserve to be itself. From a casual perspective, of life, it's literally impossible to experience an intolerance. With this being the case, Cruel Intentions is a film which takes the very root concept of an impossibility and turns it into a mystery. Mystery is connected to impossibility, and therefore certainty is connected to possibility - all possibility is certain. And then that's when Cruel Intentions finds itself in a very awkward, and in a very messed up position: Cruel Intentions connects certainty to possibility, however, it's made this connection under the precarious terms of having also connected impossibility to certainty as well.Unfortunately for Cruel Intentions, it's just a no-brainer: connecting both possibility and impossibility to certainty is one of the most intellectually brainless things that's possible. How is it even remotely sane, that certainty is made into something that's simultaneously possible and impossible?A certainty is a fact. A fact isn't a possibility, and yet it's also a fact that a fact can't be an impossibility either. Where does the insanity end?Because of its lack of focus, and because of its lack of discipline and its lack of vision, the 1999 film Cruel Intentions is the absolute brainlessness of not giving a reason for why neither possibility and impossibility deserve to be distinguished from each other
josedanieljaramillo Great movie and I'm close agree to all the commentaries, it's a very well done movie, not masterpiece, but entertained, funny, cruel, full of drama (at the end to much drama... too much) and trivia.Well, as I was saying, at the end the movie takes it to the toilet. First of all, the fact that the three characters go to the street to search each other in the big city of New York and even find themselves is just a "wtf" fact, if they meet in the train station, okay, there are schedules, in any other place, but central park? Come on! Second, how is that he, in the street, the taxi... ? -I don't want to give the spoiler- but, well, it's not big deal because for me the movie finished before this moment. The fact is that I felt like they ran out of time and budget and made a shitty end in which also characters loose their essence. I hope they had found some other end. Cause with a good "close" this movie could be near by a masterpiece, near by. Just reconnect the neurons you used in the beginning and you will love it! -Spoiler, incoming, a big one- Not this shitty end... Was a stupid dead, which take us to a stupid scene in a stupid funeral, so typical, also what comes during the funeral, mm, no.In summary... Change the end! And voila! Great good movie!
MattyGibbs A step brother and sister make a bet to take the virginity of the headmasters daughter. This is a decent drama that holds the attention well throughout as the immoral bet takes it toll on all concerned. I wasn't particularly taken with Ryan Phillipe's performance though he does play the confident spoilt rich kid pretty well. The female leads fare better with perhaps surprisingly Sarah Michelle Gellar outperforming Reese Witherspoon though to be fair her part is the better one. I was interested to see where the plot would go and was pleased that it didn't follow a predictable path. I liked the dark ending and think it went well with the tone of the film. Although it's a bit unsubstantial to be a great film this is still an entertaining watch.
