This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

"Cowboy" is a German 35-minute live action short film from almost 10 years ago. The writer and director is Till Kleinert and the two lead actors are Pit Bukowski and Oliver Scherz. It baffles me to see that 2 out of these 3 are still having fairly successful film careers. Annd even more ridiculous, this short film here got even swards recognition. Seeing this one included on "Boys on Film", the epitome of movie mediocrity, I was not too curious about this one beforehand and it turned out exactly like I expected. A real estate agent (with a wife/girlfriend of course) is out to buy some property and meets a young farm hand Minutes later they have passionate sex. And as if this was not already unrealistic and nonsensical enough already, I guess Kleinert got (rightfully) bored by his own material here around the 25-minute mark and the last part before the credits got completely out of nowhere some supernatural (not) scary horror sub-plot. No idea what he was thinking. But this development turned an already pretty bad movie into a complete mess. Stay far far away.

There has always been a type of enigma associated with deserted or abandoned places that inexplicably draws and attracts the curious. This short film explores this situation quite effectively through a well written script and great cinematography. How many of us have fantasized about driving along the country side in hopes of catching a glimpse or even meeting a fit young farmhand working on the farm or in the field.A real estate developer Christian(Oliver Sherz) finds a deserted farm and meets an elusively handsome cowboy (Pik Bukowski) when the unexpected happens. This short film has all the elements for the making of a good story: curiosity, lust, sex, horror and compassion that is effectively incorporated into the film's plot. This short film draws you into one man's journey through the country that is captivating and very entertaining.
