The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

If you like low budget, genre mocking, self deprecating movies, I think you'll enjoy Coons! We saw it at a local screening and spent the rest of the day quoting it and laughing about favorite moments. For a group of people hanging out on a rainy afternoon, it was a great conversation starter. If you missed it, and this type of movie strikes your fancy, I encourage you to rent the DVD, pick up some beer and pizza, and have some friends over for a movie. If the above does not apply to you, you will think the movie is terrible. But then, I thought Titanic was terrible some people saw it 10 times in the theater, so personal preference matters a lot. Enjoy!I should add the preview for the director's next movie, about running for mayor of his home town, looks pretty entertaining.

This was some funny stuff. I watched it last night, and it is a hilarious horror spoof. It follows a group of dumb kids as they want to party, but rabid raccoons are killing them off! The raccoons look fake, although they are real, frozen raccoons I think I heard, but you can tell that they are not living. There is also a completely random music number, which is really, really funny. The special effects aren't great, but it adds to the humor, and the acting is awful, but again, it adds to the humor. A lot of college students dress up as old men by putting on Halloween wigs and bad mustaches. This movie is not for everyone, but if you want a so-bad-it's-good movie, this is a pretty good one. One of Troma's best newer releases!

Loved every minute of this totally dumb movie!! Very much in the same vein as Reno911 !!....Loved the gay park ranger!! While the movie was a typical same budget, indie type film it should have a huge following amongst younger crowds of people! If you just want a laugh and are not looking for a deeper meaning to life, then this will satisfy! The premise is alittle hookie, but they film remains true to its basic storyline throughout! The actors were easy to understand and the emotions were hysterical! All filmmakers have to start somewhere and I think this should prove an excellent starting point for this young filmmaker! At least I hope so!Hope the same cast returns for the sequel!

Coons! was probably the best thing about the 2006 Tartan Road Film Festival in Boca Raton. I just walked into the screening of this thinking it was going to be another annoying high school short film. While realizing that the high school films were an hour later, I decided to sit this one out. Every single person in this small screening was laughing at every other line in the movie, and the ridiculous raccoons just added to it. Hopefully this movie finds an audience with some good word of mouth, as it was hilarious, shot well, and acted perfectly for the type of movie it was. I didn't stay around for the awards, but it would be a huge mistake if this movie didn't win. Keep submitting this to more festivals guys.
