If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

COME AND GET IT is a straight-to-video drama made in Australia. It's only notable for featuring a singer from AC/DC in a supporting role. The story is a would-be crime thriller about a Vietnam veteran investigating a mysterious death and winding up at a nightclub occupied by a bevy of beautiful woman. He's also gunning for revenge against a boring mega-villain. Unfortunately, the film is saddled with a very slow pace, wooden acting, all padding and no meat or grit to the story. Instead it just feels dull, derivative, and pointless.
