Clerks II Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Eric Stevenson In terms of Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse, it seems like this will be the last chronological one in the series, but Mr. Smith is in fact making more. It does seem like this would be a fitting end. It's the only movie to be a direct sequel to another one. The plot's pretty basic with Dante and Randall trying to start life anew working at the fast food chain Mooby's. The original "Clerks" was one of my favorite comedies and this isn't as good. It was a tough act to follow, but I found this to be deserving of continuing the story.The first two thirds of this movie are basically just random conversations the characters have. In the last third, it does take a drastic turn for a bigger story, which is just fine. I see myself having conversations like this with my own coworkers. I really do like the more serious scenes where they talk about their jobs and futures. Again, something I can really relate to. Jay and Silent Bob still remind me of Penn and Teller. ***
implaxis I know Kevin Smith is supposed to be this great director and dialogue writer, but I don't think it shows here. A lot of the dialogue (and there is a lot of it!) is tedious, unpleasant, and cringe-worthy. The entire film is just a bunch of strung-together vignettes with a tenuous thread of a plot line.An example of poor direction is the jail scene. There are six people there, but no establishing shot, and you never see more than two people in any one shot. Cut to Jay and Silent Bob, cut to Kelley, cut to Elias, cut to the other two, but only talking to the others from across the cell.I liked most of Smith's other movies and thought the writing was clever. This one just didn't do much for me.
Leon Erbe The first 'Clerks' movie made me crack up a lot, but this second part -well- this one literally made me cry due to laughter.The first thing I really appreciate about this movie is the fact that it is /not/ in black and white. It did not bother me about the first one, but I just think you can see things clearer and all.Another thing about this comedic beauty is that it actually has more of a story than its prequel. And this is where the spoilers hit: Dante actually does something about his (love) life and you do not ever feel as though he is nothing but an empty shell. You actually feel with him - or at least I did.My favorite scene, though, was the Kinky Kelly part. I lost all my sh*t upon firstly watching that as well as all the other times; literally the only scene to /always/ make me burst out laughing.If you can handle some obscenity as well as lots of hilarious jokes, this movie is a must-watch for you!
R M I haven't seen the first movie, but if it resembles the second one in the least (which it obviously does, because they share the same title), then I never want to see it. As far as I am concerned, this has to be one of the most tasteless, worthless and unintelligent comedies/movies I have ever seen. I like a good mindless comedy as much anyone else, but this just left me feeling like the lowest scum of society after watching it. I saw the rating and thought it would be a great comedy. At the end of the film I was not only convinced of its worthlessness, but also of the public's deteriorating tastes. All in all, the acting was pretty lame, the scenery was nil, the romance was pathetic, the dialogues brainless and corny (some corny can be good, but this was far below the bar for bad) and as I mentioned before, as a comedy, it was crap. Worse than crap. I'd rather stare at steaming crap than watch this again.
