Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
Prismark10 Matt (AJ Buckley) is a postman and takes care of his niece. He has a demanding route for his postal deliveries but things brighten up when he meets bubbly Kristi (Ashley Scott) sent on a special assignment as a 'Santa Writer' whose job is to respond to letters addressed to the North Pole.Kristi is a natural replying to the letters but the local post office boss is far from happy about Kristi and thinks Kristi has been sent by corporate headquarters to spy on him. He forces Matt to spy on her. This is an amiable film, rather light on plot and the acting is a bit hammy. The leads are likable enough and it is hinted that Kristi might be Santa's daughter and really is from the North Pole. The climax is rather flat though but it makes for pleasant undemanding viewing.
kristineochu I loved this movie! It belongs on US television! Ashley Scott, who plays Kristi North, was fabulous. If there was a real Santa's daughter, she'd be the one. A.J. Buckley, who played Matt, Kristi's love interest, was likable as the uncle who left his musical career to raise Emily. Piper Mackenzie Harris, who played Emily, had a great smile and was convincing in her belief in Santa. Lochlyn Munro, the evil Postal manager determined to sabotage Kristi was a bit overdone. Yet forgivable and easy to overlook. The supporting cast of Roland Watts, Vanessa Lee Evigan were both funny in conspiring to bring Matt and Kristi together. This was a fun filled, feel good movie - just what we need for the holidays - go watch it!
Landy Aguilar I loved Christmas Mail! This was an original theme. Kristi North (Ashley Scott) is Santa's daughter, she writes Santa's letters that children have mailed to the Post Office. Matt (A.J. Buckley) is a post man that is raisin Emily since she lost her parents. Emily writes letters to Santa wanting her uncle to be happy. But their petty boss Fuller gets suspicious of Kristi and he sends Matt to spy on her. He falls in love with her. Kristi discovers Matt's and she is devastated, she leaves the post office and Matt searches the whole town for her to no avail. You can enjoy this movie with your family, it is fresh air in a world of violent & bloody movies. I would highly recommend this movie!
Claire One of the worst Christmas movies I've seen. Starts off OK and then meanders off into a lame, hackneyed and unwatchable mess. It's a good premise too, Santa's daughter supposedly, gets a job working for a *yawn* scrooge like boss who hates Christmas, (Lochlyn Munroe what are you doing in this drivel?) but meets a put upon postman who, yep, falls for her. The 'girlfriend' who tries making the new girl welcome ends up being a drain on the nerves and her attempts at being feisty and 'with it' miss the mark completely, it's a very bad parody of Christmas and that's putting it mildly, yet it's meant to be a 'romantic comedy' - shame they couldn't get actors who played the roles better. I was really disappointed and it's an hour and half of my life that I won't get back again. The write up made it sound like one of the newer Christmas movies that would be good, but the fact that it was made in 2010, didn't even get to DVD but came right on into TV says a few words about how bad this is. This is also available via Amazon's video-on-demand service but really, don't waste your money or your time on it. There are better Christmas movies out there.Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas movies and I do like to watch them but I have to admit to giving up on this one, it is truly dire.
