ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.

anmesimer The Bollywood Film, Chennai Express, Is a romantic comedy that will have you sympathizing for the characters at one point, but also making you laugh at the next. The film was about two lovers who miraculously ran into each other on a train. Rahul, the first main character, was on a mission to bring his grandfather's ashes to the waters of Rameswaram. Meenamma, the second main character, was trying to escape an arranged marriage, and ended up on the Chennai Express. The Chennai Express is where the two meet, and their journey starts from there. I noticed that in this film, there was a lot of small markets in carts just about everywhere, thus showing street selling more common in non-American places. Also the way that the women dress in India is much different. During a wedding the women wear a silk saree rather than a dress. The impact this film made on my global perspective really made me think less about myself and more about the other living styles in around the world. I was oblivious to that fact that arranged marriages were still going on. I was able to see the distress in Meenamma, and I would be absolutely mortified if my family ever made me marry someone I had no relations with. I really enjoyed this film and absolutely would recommend it to anyone who would want to watch something romantic but goofy.
jageldbart Chennai Express is an amazing Bollywood film which not only is a comedic film, but also an action film, and romantic film all rolled up into one. It is on the shorter side for being a Bollywood film, which is crazy considering it is about two hours and a half altogether. However, this movie is worth it one hundred percent. I personally found it to be a great thing to watch because it has amazing themes throughout it such as family being super important, standing up for what you want regardless of your societal standings/physical appearance. The main character is named Rahul and his journey to Goa for a guys trip is changed dramatically when he forgets something important (no spoilers) on the train named the Chennai Express. When he was getting off the train, he saw a gorgeous woman running his way and he without thought helps her onboard, but also helps other people on board who have an interesting connection for her as well as for why they were following her onto the train. Overall, I think this movie is a spectacular action/comedy/romance film with the perfect balance of all three genres.
thmurphy-37414 Chennai Express is a very interesting movie. It is very different than anything else I have ever seen before. This is probably one of my first movies from Bollywood, but I will not think of Bollywood as this type of movie entirely. Now, the movie started off very slowly, and I was pretty confused with what was going on and it was pretty corny. The whole movie is corny actually. A few things to complain about are how the big guy at the end just decides to give up the girl when he traveled very far just to find her. Even that Rahul had the smallest of chances in the fight, that is simply impossible. The movie then went off on the train, and I guess the title of the movie is the name of the train company, I think. Rahul boasts about Goa and then as soon as he sees a pretty girl he instantly starts to just think of her and doesn't get off at the correct train stop. I guess he was being a nice guy, but it seemed very corny. All of the explosions were very comedic, and everything else was just a little too much to really enjoy the movie. The first half of the movie was incredibly slow, but I would say. It started to pick up after that and was seeming like an actual movie again. Despite my claim earlier about the fight scene, I enjoyed seeing the ending. Yet, the father also has all of these problems with Rahul and then sees him as a man because he keeps getting up when he gets hit. Then Meena and Rahul go away happily ever after. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, but definitely would check out other movies made in Bollywood.
