Chalk Audience Reviews

Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Enoch Sneed I saw this by chance on a cable movie channel and it really is a miniature masterpiece. In about 20 minutes we see well-developed characters and their relationships, and get some reflections on the spirit of freedom, all told with the minimum of dialogue. Hitchcock would have loved the way the story is told through the camera, and the photography is excellent. Like many better films this leaves the viewer asking many questions: why was the prisoner in jail; how did his relationship with the guard begin; why a female guard in a male prison; will they meet again after the film is over, is she waiting for him? This is one of the best short films I have ever seen.
Dockelektro Beautifully realized idea, this one tells a small story about a jail inmate that draws pictures on his cell wall with chalk. he is befriended by a female jail guard and hated by the security director, who makes him stop drawing. Until those pictures come to life... Great locations and cinematography, along with cute special effects make this movie look like much more than a film school short. Beautiful.
