A story about two people isolated from the "real world" for different reasons, who find in each other an unexpected connection that might help them out of the solitude they willingly had chosen to live in. The focus is on Kim, the man on the island, so close yet so far of society, escaping his previous societal worries; in a metaphorical reference to female Kim's situation, living a fake life through the internet from the comfort of her room. He slowly comes to appreciate life in a different way thanks to those little rewards he's able to receive from his own effort and hard work.
The way it's narrated through the castway's interactions with the inhabited island (and later from Kim's pov), along with very funny scenes at times and a couple splashes of surrealism, make up one of those special films that will fill you with hope.

Having watched many Korean films through random finds I came across this gem. Not only is this film suitable for the hard of reading (some people hate subs) but its great for the spectrum of film watchers who appreciate more than just a spectacle of visuals or heartstrings. I was on a bit of a roller coaster after watching "I saw the devil" the evening before so i was expecting to be yawning and anticipated a chick flick...Not really a big fan of Lee Hae-jun but i was so surprised how much I enjoyed this film.. Ups, downs and laughs.. Spend a bit of time on the couch with wife, husband or partner and snuggle down for a cracker of a film...

I almost lost hope that i would ever find a movie again that would make me give it a eight happily. I don't exactly remember how i found this but i am really really happy that i did.The plot of the movie is such that speaking about a small scene would be a spoiler. The only thing i would say is if you like cast away watch it and if you don't like cast away watch it. It is perfect fit for you if you are trying to forget about everything and be in a place where you would get to be with yourself for 116mins. I might have made it sound scary but believe me watch this movie and you would never regret it.
