kosmasp Finding your way is not always the easiest thing to do. Of course that doesn't mean every movie about self discovery or about maturing will speak to all people. Obviously one other reviewer even had an issue with this being a festival film (as if the movie is to blame). But if you can look past labels and want an interesting story, this could be it.It's not the best ever (though of course individual opinion can differ, subjective viewing and "baggage" one may have from previous experiences), but it's a nice drama and the acting is at least decent. There are some nice threads throughout the movie and the characters are likeable despite their obvious flaws. A light nice movie then ...

beherenow12 This movie was good to me because I cared what happened to the main character, Carrie. And, this is usually a sign that a film was well written and acted. However...the young male actors in this film, and a plethora of other ones, these days, continue to believe that they do not have to make themselves clear. That is, they are sloppy about pronunciation and enunciation. English (and in this one, Irish) actors and stage players seem to understand the concept of speaking slowly and clearly so that the audience does not have to guess at the dialogue.Where is the training of actors in this regard? Do young people think it is "in" or cool to speak as though they had a mouth full of rocks?Respectfully,

laapt-01742 I saw this movie at the Arclight in Chicago last week, knowing nothing about it. I found it to be charming, intelligent, observant and very layered. Bel Powley seems like a force to be reckoned with, and there wasn't a weak link in the cast. I recommended this film to my 62 year old parents, and my 17 year old twins, and everyone loved it. We've now bought the film On Demand as well. Go see it!

rick-morgan9063 A supposedly bright girl from London with the usual mix of teenage relationship issues struggles to come to terms with the complexities of adulthood. This is a harmless, somewhat saccharine movie that has been done before, and better - you have to suspend your belief that the lead actress is exceptionally bright, academically at least, and just accept that it will pass a couple of hours on a rainy evening as a harmless, uninspiring romcom. Not a disaster by any means, but lower your expectations I reckon.
