At the end of every summer, the children of a Christian community from a suburb of New Jersey attend Camp Hope. They travel deep into the woods far from any distractions the world provides. Here, the children are taught the ways of the Lord, the perils of the flesh, and the horror of the Devil. A charismatic priest leads them in their training. But, he unknowingly has brought something with him, something evil. What was supposed to be a safe place, a spiritual retreat has now turned into a nightmare that not even faith can end.

Megamind To all those who have watched it: I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.
Jane Doe Okay real quick the movie as a whole is kind of a dog with the stereotypical 'Christians are crazy' theme. Much of the front end of the movie is spent making these people look as stupid and crazy as possible. However there is a portion of the movie when the 'demons' show up that stands out enough that I attempted to make contact (unsuccessfully) with George VanBuskirk to see where this notion came from. A low budget and weak acting round things out, pretty standard fare for movies of this type, but nowhere near the worst selection on the shelf. If you have ever had what you consider a demonic encounter you may wish to subject yourself to a viewing for that one scene.
pm_alan OK, for starters, this movie doesn't QUITE deserve harsh ratings and reviews. By no means does it deserve good ones either. I'm really glad I caught this on TV, because I had tried to rent it on redbox one night but it was sold out (surprising). Let me start by getting the good parts out of the way as they will take much less time. I can't remember the exact name, but the kid that played Jack was exceptional. His performance seemed genuine. In fact, this movie isn't really brought down by its acting (with exception of one or two characters). The last thing decent about this movie, is that no matter how bored I was, it did a decent job of keeping me interested (for better or WORSE). The movie had a lot going on, but at no point did an actual plot surface. You never really knew what was going on and in this case that was a bad thing. I continued to watch hoping for SOME sort of payoff, and didn't really get it. The last 15 minutes was weak, and isn't as good as IT thinks it is. I wish I could have voted a 4.5 for this movie, as 5 is too high and 3 is too low. Do I recommend this movie? Not really. Do I think some people could enjoy it? Yeah. It's not even close to the worst movie ever, but watch it only if you really have nothing better to do.
Tss5078 What the hell did I just watch? The only scary thing about this film is that there are really religious freaks out there, who are willing to send their kids to camps like this. The producers of this movie must have known how awful it was, because they put a big picture of "The Social Network Guy," Jesse Eisenberg on the cover, and list him as the star, when he's in the movie for all of 2 minutes. The star is Will Denton, who you may remember from the short lived TV series, Kidnapped. He was pretty good, so was Gossip Girls, Connor Paolo. It's too bad they didn't have an actual script to work with. It really just blows my mind that things like this get made. No one in their right mind would consider this movie worth their time.
burden89 Camp Hell was worse than an after school special. I am shocked to find they spent $3 million on this film. I get the religious undertones of guilt and torment these teens go through in a church community but the title is really deceiving. The direction, pace and plot was also pure torture to observe. What made this movie even worse is the fact your waiting for something scary to happen based on the suspenseful trailer. However, it appears Lionsgate spent more time on the trailer than the actual movie. I rank Camp Hell as one of the worse horror films I've ever seen because it was: (1) really bad; and (2)it took itself so seriously.
