The reason you won't be able to sit still during this is that you'll be jumping up to turn it off. This is the sort of flashy glitz choreography that gives show dancing a bad name. The dancers may be capable, but the material they're presenting is completely appalling. The original music, where it exists, is really unsettlingly bad, and there are so many talented arrangers out there that there's no excuse for it. I think the reason the video director had to move the camera so much was to try to distract your attention from the stage. Fortunately, there are some old standard tunes that you might be able to sit through if you're unable to make it to the "off" or "eject" buttons.It's a dance revue, and like all revues, there's no thread or continuity throughout it. That's frequently a problem, even with the best show choreographers like Fosse (Dancin', Fosse) or Robbins (Broadway). But their revues had the advantage of re-presenting works that had a story line to begin with. Because this a revue, there's no reason to care about any of the dancers, and we never really get to see any of them shine because everybody on the stage is going full-out all the time; there's no pacing or focus among the dancing.I sat through 5 numbers, trying to give it another chance, and then finally had to turn it off.

This filming of what is probably a very good theatrical performance has been completely ruined by the director's insistence on jump cutting and slo-mo effects. I don't think that any camera angle is held for more than 3 seconds before a cut is made. I detest directors who think that a focus on the subject is not worthwhile and who would rather the viewer has the attention span of a gnat. Perhaps in the theatre this would have worked. On video, it appears to me to have been subjected to the Texas Chain Saw Massacre.This is a perfect example of how not to video the genre. Bad, Bad, bad.Absolutely ghastly! Save your money for something else.

One of the traveling groups just visited Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL and I loved the show. The dancers are absolutely wonderful and friendly. I felt like I just wanted to jump up and go dance with them. I bought the actual movie and I'm looking forward to watching it. They are a must see group. They brought such a crowd. I attended their last performance at Busch Gardens and it was just spectacular. One of the singers couldn't have been more right when he said how they have touched our lives and that they would be greatly missed. They brought such a crowd for the last show and they got an awesome standing ovation. We're looking forward to finding out if they'll be traveling back to Tampa to perform for us all again.

This is a joy to watch. Some dance movies keep you at a distance. This one pulls you right on stage and lets the sweat sting your eyes. The dancers, and there are a bunch of them, all seem to truly enjoy dancing. Their infectious energy will have you tapping your feet and squirming in your seat. Did I mention squirming? The sex appeal of this movie is in the stratsophere! I've watched and enjoyed Riverdance and the like. Those shows dazzle you with technical expertise and hints of more feeling. This one delivers on all accounts. There is technical expertise to spare. From the opening urban number until the invitation..."Would You Like To Dance With Me?"...you are never let down. The Bizet inspired Passionata brings Bizet's Carmen to the masses and it is a sensual feast! I can't wait to catch the group on tour. Watch this! You won't be disappointed.
