This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

BUNNYMAN is a typicl indie slasher effort about young innocents being hunted by a killer dressed in a rabbit costume. It's as dumb as it sounds, full of cliches from beginning to end, with more than a whiff of WOLF CREEK about it. There are a few scenes of low rent gore here and there but otherwise this film is devoid of interest and so hackneyed as to be thoroughly boring.

***SPOILER ALERT***Bunnyman is a fun low budget action film from Southern California. Right from the first shot, you know that you're in for something different. Bunnyman takes the advantage of the Exploitation genre to its fullest, and creates something truly different. Although far from perfect, this is an entertaining movie that is sure to appeal to fans of Exploitation cinema. The film has overtones of surrealism and b-movie horror, but it isn't a total horror film, there is humor throughout. The strength of the Movie lies in its concept and action, and it is not a film that will be soaked out for its acting, as it is often ridiculous. If you're looking for mindless action fun, then this is the film to watch. Exploitation films are always exciting to watch because they tend to be quite different from big budget films, and most of the time they tend to have more interesting ideas at play as well. The film has bizarre humor in it's dialogue, and the film has a certain look to the film. The characters are insane, eccentric and unique and add to the enjoyment of the film. The film is far from perfect, but it definitely is one entertaining ride from start to finish. This is one of the more original films of the "giant killer bunny" sub-genre, and it is a must see for midnight film fans that enjoy tongue in cheek horror films that are over the top in terms of concept. Bunnyman is one of the better obscured cult hits that deliver some awesome entertainment that you won't soon forget.

A underrated film but with it's flaws. This is the original film in the series, and from my research made in a couple of weeks for 35k. I mention this, because you have to put the film into context of what you can really expect from a non budget horror film. For example if you go into the original Friday the 13th expecting high end production values, your gonna be disappointed. With that being said, considering their resources I think the filmmakers did a great job in laying out the groundwork for the franchise as a whole. I saw part 2 first, and then went back to see how it started. The films seem self contained when you watch them alone, but some things make more sense after watching the sequel first. Not sure what order to watch these films to be honest. I have seen other "weekend shoot" type horror films, and believe me these people nailed to compared to the rest of the similar elk. That being said this film can't compete with the million dollar budgets of horror films in the theaters, heck even the 100 thousand sci if movie of the week crap. But with a third of their budget, this film tried to do something different, and in my book they deserve a high rating just for aspiring to be something different.

I wanted to give this movie a 0 but 1 is the lowest it goes.Where do I start with this one...Well let's start with the absolute ZERO acting ability of ALL the actors. They were all pathetic in every way shape and form. It's almost as like the producers grabbed a few people off the street and shoved them into this pitiful excuse for a movie. On the cover of the DVD it states that it's based on a true story. So I'm assuming that 6 people in a car (3 guys and 3 girls), on a deserted road in the middle of Bum-F**k Idaho couldn't out run a crapped out truck driven by a man in a Bugs bunny outfit, allowing this ONE man to kill them off one by one without ever thinking to themselves at the outset that there's only one of him but six of us. Yeah right!I found this movie to be more of a comedy than horror. For example, one scene where the first girl gets done in by this bunny wielding a chainsaw, she's just standing there basically waiting for it to happen. No screaming or attempt to run away or any form of self preservation whatsoever! Yep, this movie has it all together when it comes to making you want to believe it was based on true events. The Wiki review sums this movie up nicely...28 Days Later Analysis called Bunnyman an incompetent and frustrating mess, gave it a "generous" three out of ten and wrote "atrocious acting, zero character development, no tension, zero sense of pacing, poorly written, continuity errors abound, audio problems, ADR and dubbing, poorly written characters, forced tension, meandering story, etc.
