This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

A true to life story that some can sympathyze with and others may learn from. With friends, family, and family of friends presently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces I believe we can relate to one of the messages this film inspires. This film centered on a group of people, their values, their ability to admit and to learn from their mistakes, and their ability to find worth and meaning in them...I personally liked it when Toby's character said something like he's made mistakes...but his daughter wasn't one of them. I also like how he "lost a brother, but gained his daughter". If I were to say only one word about this film it would have to be "realism". In my opinion the actors were very realistic and the storyline kept to social conditions as if they really did exist, as if it were all true fact. The music tied in very realistically also...this film was not a musical...instead it was just like down home :) It was from both sides of the track...young and older adults will be able to relate as well as teenagers...in another aspect from both sides of the track...they didn't have much and gained plenty.

This is a great family film. Anyone should be proud to add this to their personal DVD library. It is one of those rare films that leaves you wanting to see more at the end, sorry that it's over and wanting to know more about the lives of the interesting characters. The story line is extremely moving and tugs at the heart strings. What a fabulous find - as there is much garbage out there. What great fun it is to share works of art such as this. I crave more films like this one and constantly search them out. Kudos to the creators! Thank you to the cast.FYI - check out Toby Keith's I Love That Bar and Grill restaurant/bar in Bricktown/Oklahoma City. It's a fun place with great atmosphere, serving up terrific food & entertainment.

What starts off as a slower paced, mom vs daughter in modern times film, slowly, moves into it's real plot which is you can come home if you left your heart there. The film does a great job in developing the relationship between the characters present and past and what might have been and what still might be. It develops, without over developing, the deep value of family and the simple things in life. The editing was a bit choppy, but the acting, music and story all work. The story includes headliners from country, but the director did not let them steal the film, nor distract from it, just contribute to it which is no small feat in film today.

Watching this movie from beginning to end ( I was able to see it filmed in several of my local communities) this movie had already touched a little bit of curiosity. But I never knew how much it would touch my heart. This story is about life.... bad and good mistakes, and how people try to "make things right" even years later. Toby Keith was AWESOME in this film. And Kelly Preston showed her heart song in this film. It was such a good story, and I don't understand why critics rated this movie a C+, which I feel was judged this score, because it didn't have the violence, sex, and cursing that they think Americans want these days. They need to make more movies like this one! Everyone that played in this movie shined! And the added bonus was seeing friends in this movie too !
