After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

This is a 80s movie about a TV news station. Maybe you expected some great investigation cases but here's it's not the subject : it's just about how competitive and seducing coworkers can do their job. I really like how this under pressure office can foster nice, close and genuine relationships between the team. However i don't understand why the movie is so dully written : characters don't talk clear and simple and after a time, it's really confusing ! The cast is great and Holly shows she can be a true manager. The faraway distant Nicholson is a funny add-on. At the end, even if the movie doesn't really delivers a hit, it's more entertaining than the dreadful « morning glory » that fails with everything the two movies share !

Broadcast News was a highly informational movie which introduced me to the stress, worry, and pressure of working at a News Station. No one's spot for anything is ever 100% secure. Jane taught me that through hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. She worked hard her entire life to get to where she ended up at the end of the movie. Aaron taught me that sometimes even the things we want the most don't end up mattering in the end, because everything will turn out alright. And finally, Tom taught me that sometimes we all need a little help from other people. Although I personally wouldn't fake tears to get there, Tom ended up exactly where he wanted. Broadcast News is an 8/10 movie for me.

Broadcast News is a compelling story of three very different people in the news business. The characters, played by Holly Hunter (Jane), William Hurt (Tom) and Albert Brooks (Aaron), are a dynamic trio of very different and conflicting personalities. The movie follows the three characters through their lives and struggles inside and outside of the newsroom. Overall, Broadcast News was a compelling, funny, entertaining watch. A good use of time.

Full of journalistic humor and complicated love lives, this movie will
satisfy anyone who likes watching individuals stress over their
everyday lives. The pressure of deadlines, tension between friends and
an ominous job-layoff threat looming overhead keeps viewers enticed to
see what happens next. Upon looking for a film with a happy ending,
this movie may not meet the requirements. It ends rather abruptly,
leaving viewers still to wonder what will happen next. However, the
film does feature many realistic events from the world of journalism.
Viewers will smile and laugh along to the movie as characters casually
bury the lead.
