pinbackwiggly Oh how I miss the message boards. This film was made for one reason only...to watch good ol Chuck walk around and kick some people in the chest. That being said, sometimes that is all it takes to make a watchable movie. There are some shallow supporting cast and a love interest that I think I blinked too long while watching and they became a couple. There's also a nice nod to the camaraderie of mid-70s truckers on their CBs. So to wrap up, some fun martial arts from Mr. Norris. I've seen a heck of a lot worse.Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.
utgard14 Dumb bit of business that has some value as an unintentional comedy but nothing else. Chuck Norris stars as a high-kicking truck driver out to find his little brother, who ran into trouble in a hick town in California run by a cartoon villain. This really could have been fun but, sadly, it's not. The script is full of tired clichés and cardboard characters. The production values are so cheap it looks like it was made for television. The town where the bulk of the movie takes place appears to be one of those old western sets from the silent movie days. I doubt there's more than ten nails holding up the whole place. The climax involving a convoy of truckers demolishing the town is pretty unimpressive since a good gust of wind would've done the trick. Chuck gets to do some arm wrestling, barroom brawling, lovemaking, and, of course, kicking. Speaking of which, the fight scenes are nothing to brag about. The highlight of the movie is the corny montage of Chuck and his girlfriend walking and talking while some cheesy song plays. This is really a stinker. It was obviously meant to cash in on the short-lived trucker and CB craze of the '70s, one of the most baffling fads ever. Like I said before, some fun could have been had here but this is just a slog to get through.
thinker1691 Chuck Norris became a American Icon when he reached the top of the Martial Arts world. Winning nearly every competition from East to the West coast, his fame proceeded him into films. There he made several low budget movies which led to his most memorable confrontation with the legendary Bruce Lee. In this film called " Breaker, Breaker " Norris plays John Dawes who's younger brother Billy (Michael Augenstein) a trucker has been arrested, jailed, kidnapped and presumed killed, at the whim of corrupt Judge Joshua Trimmings (George Murdock). The small town sheriff works with the judge to waylay Dawes as he enters the town. Throughout the film one can see Norris in action as he takes on the Sheriff and his henchmen and literally dusts' them. Though there is much to be said for the Martial artist, except for his talent, Norris's acting as well as the rest of the cast is stiff, boring and cardboard. The plot is simple as is the entire premise. Still if you're a Norris fan, this is one for you. If not you can do with this film as the title suggest. **
Aaron1375 I can not believe this movie has such a low score, I did not think it was all that great, but I thought it was rather watchable. It went by fairly quickly, but lets just say there were parts that were disappointing. All through the movie they seemed to be building a somewhat great final showdown between Chuck and some awesome fighter, but that fight never materialized. In fact, at the beginning of the movie when they were talking about their town finally being recognized as a town they mentioned someone that was supposedly integral in the founding of the town and I thought this unseen character would be the one to have a showdown with Chuck, but instead it seemed to be some random guy. The story is a bit like a couple of other movies about small towns and dudes who come into these towns and kick butt because the small town is usually full of corruption. Here I think Chuck's brother is a truck driver who gets pulled over and ends up being taken prisoner in this town so Chuck has to come into town and rescue him. He befriends a female in town during his butt kicking exploits. This film is a bit like the movie "Ruckus", though I would say that film is the superior movie even though this one has Chuck Norris in it and that one did not.
