It is a performances centric movie

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.

Nice guy Rich (a solid and likable performance by Corey Haim) falls under the irresistible spell of the cunning and seductive Megan (ably played by the delectable Nicole Eggert), a 17-year-old femme fatale who wants Rich to help her bump off her wealthy overprotective father Cy (a sturdy portrayal by Jean LeClerc). Director Brenton Spencer, working from a compact script by Robert C. Cooper, relates the involving story at a steady pace, makes neat occasional use of stylized slow motion, and delivers several sizzling soft-core sex scenes that give this picture an extra hot edge. The competent acting holds the movie together: Haim and Eggert display a strong and believable chemistry (they were an item in real life), with sound support from Corey Feldman as Rich's bitter older brother Wes, Kathleen Robertson as the smitten Darla, and Gary Farmer as pesky homicide detective Anderson. Perci Young's crisp cinematography gives the movie an attractive bright look. Paul Zaza's moody score likewise does the trick. However, it's the sweet'n'petite Eggert's copious nudity in which she bares her tight'n'tasty little body that really makes this film well worth a watch. Perfect late-night cable TV fare.

Was there really a demand to see Corey Haim and Corey Feldman naked and involved (not with each other, thank goodness) in extremely explicit sex scenes? Well, maybe women who were teenagers when Haim and Feldman were at the height of their fame, though I think even they might be uncomfortable by the explicit sex scenes since the characters involved in them are not adults but teenagers. But that's not the main problem I had with this movie. The movie is extremely slow-moving, and the few twists to be found are mostly very predictable. The movie is slicker and more expensive- looking than the average Canadian movie made around this time, though it does suffer from dark-looking photography (a common problem with many Canadian films.) Only for those who are interested in seeing once famous stars embarrassing themselves on screen.

Ever since "Double Indemnity," the erotic thriller formula has pretty much stayed the same. Beautiful girl convinces earnest, naive man to do something terrible, then screw him over by having him take the rap. Blown Away redoes the story with teen idols as the leads. The Two Coreys and Nicole Eggert form a triangle that tries to keep you guessing who is manipulating who.One of the many problems with this story is that it is an adult drama in which no one actually acts like an adult, including the middle-aged adolescent father to Nicole's character. Much of the dialog is silly and there are plenty of plot holes and confusing twists. However, looking back as a retro piece of b-movie trash, it does have some entertainment value. I liked the movie more before it dove into the "will-you-help-me-kill-him" cliché, and Corey Feldman does what he does best--playing the sleaziest guy in the show. The early scenes with him as a slimy ski resort worker were more interesting than most of the final third of the movie. Overall, only recommended for fans of unintentional humor and irredeemable trash.

I originally saw this masterpiece when I was very young and I still remember it quite vividly. It left a great impression on me, at least the actress did! I was a bit confused about why the mother died but it doesn't really matter. The father is a scary and obsessive man, but I would be nervous if my daughter looked like her. Also Corey Feldman does a strange bust in at the end of the movie, he is dark as usual, kinda like the lost boys. The cinematography is a bit artsy when they shoot the inside of the girls house, but it also because it is very contemporary looking. All in all it is very good if you just want to see some explosions and hot love! Again the sex scenes made me want to be older when I was young! A nice rent.
