Blood Freak Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
SoTrumpBelieve Must See Movie...
Josephina Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
preppy-3 A truly incredible movie. A young muscular guy (Steve Hawkes) falls in with a bad girl who gets him hooked on drugs. Then he begins working at a turkey farm. While there he eats a turkey ingested with some experimental drug. He passes out...and wakes up with the head of a turkey...that gobbles! Unfortunately he's hungry and the only thing that can satisfy him is the blood of drug addicts! Throughout the film some guy pops up smoking HEAVILY and acting as a Greek chorus commenting on the action! This is just so ridiculous it's fascinating to watch. The script is terrible and (with the sole exception of Hawkes) all the acting is dreadful. The turkey head is laughable and the dime-store gore only adds to the fun. Really stupid and bizarre but fun. Also I got a kick out of the narrator who's smoking nonstop and, at one point, almost chokes! Actor Hawkes has bad-mouthed this movie for years. It's easy to see why.
HumanoidOfFlesh Canadian body builder Steve Hawkes plays Vietnam vet named Herschell who smokes a lot of weed and turns into vampiric were-turkey after eating a scientifically-altered turkey prepared by two scientists in their laboratory. He quickly begins to stalk and kill young female junkies and drink their blood."Blood Freak" by Brad F.Grinter and Steve Hawkes has to be seen to be believed. There is even uplifting pro-Christian message at the end.The film is gleefully bizarre and has some amateurish gore scenes including table saw leg cutting. The acting is hilariously bad,the editing is awful and Grinter's speeches are utterly stupid.6 cold turkeys out of 10."How can such a big hunk of man be such a damn coward?"
Michael_Elliott Blood Freak (1972) BOMB (out of 4) An incredibly bizarre Christian/Drug/Horror/Moral film, which is quite possibly the worst film I've ever seen. It takes a while to explain but the film starts off with a good-hearted biker (Steve Hawkes) who gives a Bible worshipping woman a lift back to her house. At her house, the woman's whore sister is throwing a drug party and tries to seduce the biker. That fails but the biker soon cracks and smokes a joint, which turns him into a fiend. Later, he gets a job at a turkey farm where two scientists pay him pot if he will try a new drug that people can put on their Thanksgiving turkey. This drug, mixed with the pot, turns the biker in a half turkey/half man monster who goes on a rampage. Without question there are a couple laughs here and there but this is a really hard film to make it through. Everything in the film is horribly done and there really isn't anything going for the film but it remains a cult favorite. Actor Hawkes would have his career ended a couple years after this after his was caught on fire while shooting another movie. He got in the press again in 2004 after his pet tiger escaped from his home in Loxahatchee, Florida. The tiger was shot by the Wildlife Commission, which set off a storm of controversy. Six days later Hawkes' home caught fire and burned to the ground but all the animals were able to escape.
ElijahCSkuggs Did you say Mutant Killer Turkey? Well if you did, I'm there baby! This is a whacked out, B...possibly Z movie that revolves around anti-drug statements and has some religious stuff going on as well. But besides those boring themes you also have a guy with a Turkey head running around killing and drinking people's blood. Unfortunately only towards the end of the flick does the "action" really start happening. But don't fret, this movie has some of the worst (and I say that in a loving way) acting you can find. A lot of people say they find the movie hilarious. Well I suppose it is damn funny, but it's not funny the entire duration. It's consistently bad, that's for sure, but since you get the idea that everyone sucks at acting and the bland lines won't stop coming, I just wasn't smiling as much as I hoped. Again, don't get me wrong, after the first dinner scene I laughed, but only sporadically. But if you're a fan of gems like Invasion of the Blood Farmers or any other ridiculously bad horror movies, you'll most likely be really entertained by Blood Freak. So all in all, Blood Freak is probably one of the worst movies I've seen, but it's probably also in the top 5 of my favorite "So Bad It's Good" movies. Probably the funniest thing about this movie is that it was trying to take it self seriously. Imagining Herschel convulsing on the ground is a sight to see. Blood Freak is a must for lovers of Bad films.
