Blitz Audience Reviews

NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Kaydan Christian A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
The Movie Diorama This film was made for him. Forget about the exaggerated action flicks that he is famous for, it's these smaller thrillers that allows him to shine. A serial killer targeting police officers in South East London is slowly going through the entire division. It's up to an uncontrollable officer and a new sergeant to take him down. Firstly, being British myself, London is not this bad where you physically cannot go out onto the streets without a murder taking place. Secondly, you'll need to fine tune your hearing because everyone speaks like they're from "Laaaaaandaaaaaan! Init!". Accurate yet takes time to adjust to. What we are presented with is a consistently engaging crime drama with some well executed thrills. Yes, the narrative is slightly messy. Yes, this is not going to set the world alight. And yes, the protagonist should be fired...immediately. But it's entertaining as hell. Statham sarcastically blitzing (see what I did there...) members of the public with lines such as "I left you the crisps you cheeky bugger!" or "Do I look like I carry a pencil?". His delivery of the dialogue just brings a smile to my face. I want more! Considine was competent as always. Oh and Mark Rylance pops up occasionally. Wow, even Luke Evans makes a surprise entrance halfway through. Who knew...! Gillen plays the antagonist with a fun buoyancy that allows him to explore his character. Enthralling and maniacal simultaneously. Narratively though, it's inconsistent. The sub plot involving PC Falls was pointless and added no character depth whatsoever. The ending was uninspired and far too cheesy. Also a few plot holes regarding the killer that really weren't tied together. However, it's short, sweet and undeniably entertaining. "The Stath" is a man who keeps on giving, could happily watch four hours of him being sarcastic with his deep masculine voice.
adonis98-743-186503 A tough cop is dispatched to take down a serial killer who has been targeting police officers. I love Jason Statham as an actor but this is easily one of his most weakest films that he has ever done next to Spy where they turned him into an absolute joke. My main issue with the film is exactly the same issue that i had with Homefront a way better movie that worked completely which is the villain of the film played by Aidan Gillen (The Dark Knight Rises) who is really miscasted as this skinny bad guy who wants to eat and watch TV shows on television. Another problem is that the movie is trying to make you care about a drug addict police woman and Luke Evans and both of them aren't really that interesting the best part of the movie is Jason Statham himself and the film starts pretty strong i want lie but the rest of the film is just not that great. If you're a Statham fan give it a shot if you're not skip it 7/10.
SnoopyStyle Detective Sergeant Tom Brant (Jason Statham) is a hard cop in southeast London willing take anything including a hockey stick to the bad guys. Cops are being targeted. Sergeant Porter Nash (Paddy Considine) is brought in to head the manhunt. He's ridiculed for being gay but finds a supporter in Brant. The killer makes reporter Dunlop (David Morrissey) his contact. Brant and Nash zero in on Barry "Blitz" Weiss (Aidan Gillen) as their suspect. Brant remembers a run-in with him a year ago. This is a hard-boiled cop drama. This wants to be a gritty harsh movie. It does come off as another modern grim British TV cop show with bigger actors. Considine fits right in. Statham seems to be itching to be the Transporter. It wouldn't hurt him to play slightly against type especially in a movie which wants to be taken more seriously. I like the grim tone but Statham may be at cross-purposes.
carbuff Big regrets here. It was late. I was tired. I figured, I really didn't want to think too much, if at all, so I'll play it safe and just put a Statham flick on. I'm not familiar with the source material, but this will be weak tea for any Statham fan. Just lame, cliché-ridden, "Dirty Harry" stuff from beginning to end without any compelling story. The book has got to be better, it certainly couldn't be worse. Not quite as bad as a two, but no way I'll give it more than a three. Basically, I'm just so mad at myself--I could have grabbed so many other movies, and I went instead with this run-of-the-mill TV-grade pulp. At least it was short. My bad.
