Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

The acting in this movie is really good.

Good actors, dull movie. It starts off interesting and decays into a dull morbid, depressing and unrealistic B movie. Makes about as much sense as "Killer Clowns From Outer Space", at least that had some humor in it.
It's "Lord of the Flies" goes blind. And it doesn't get a sight better.

Based on a popular novel by the Portuguese Nobel Prize-winning author Jose Saramago, Blindness (2008) is a dystopian tale of survival in the face of a pandemic.Blindness opens with an affluent Japanese businessman suddenly blocking traffic during rush hour. Inexplicably blinded, he is unable to continue driving and a seemingly good Samaritan offers to help him. When they arrive at the Japanese man's upscale apartment, however, the "good Samaritan" steals his car and escapes. Soon the entire city is overtaken by a pandemic of "white blindness", like driving in a snow storm. The pandemic becomes global. Read the entire review at: www.unhealedwound.com

Worst ever. It's the worst ever because it full of great actors and solid performances that do things that make no sense. Julienne Moore can see, and yet she waits and waits, allowing her friends to be murdered and raped by blind people, while she does nothing. It is infuriating because it is a great idea, and could have been so much better. And this is why I give it one out of ten. It's not that it's as bad as say, Astro Zombies, but it is the true loss of potential that turns it into a horrible film. The worse part though, is when the director tries to imbue the thing with some kind of zero affect binge of loftiness and significance, like when it rains and the roaring violins try to make us feel something emotionally transcendent. Rent Day of the Triffids instead.

WARNING, SPOILERS. SO MANY SPOILERS.Overall, the movie's production quality was good, but the main issue I had with this movie would be the main character. So, everyone goes Blind, right? They're all like, "S***, we can't see anything. And this is like, bad." They get put into this like, prison area together. You know, quarantined and s***. Well, guess what? One person is IMMUNE.That's right. They can see. Now, that may not be a big deal. But when it comes down to 100+ newly blind people... and one person who can see. It's like, "Well, maybe that person would be helpful." Lol, NOPE. She didn't even try to tell anyone, "yo, guys. this disease? I'm immune, LOL."Now, this is where it's going to get REALLY spoiler-y. So, some of the blind people are a**holes. They're like, "Hey, we could take over this place." As one of them has a gun, so that's pretty sweet. And what does our hero do? S*** all. Just sits around, let's everyone get taken advantage of, stole from, harassed. All while going. "Hm. Well."Then, when they run out of stuff to steal. They're all like, "We're going to rape you." And at THIS POINT, YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD DO SOMETHING, RIGHT? RIGHT?LOL, NO. THEY END UP GETTING RAPED. Only AFTER they, and a bunch of the other women get raped, does she finally go, "Hm.. I may need to do something about this."This movie is a very frustrating movie if you expect a main character to not just sit by and watch her friends / family get raped from blind dudes that have no sort of self defence. Skip it. Watch something better. Perhaps 'Carriers', it's the same theme almost.
