Blade: House of Chthon Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
GazerRise Fantastic!
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
puma31219 Overall, I was actually very impressed with the series. I think that it captured the feeling of the first two Blade movies while adding a "neo-noir" aspect about it with Blade and his team doing detective work. I thought that there were many great new characters who were well cast and I absolutely loved that they explored what would happen to a Vampire that took Blade's serum. The fight choreography was very good and the special effects were believable. And the storyline behind the main villain (his motives and his drive) was well written and could have taken the show to a long stretch because there was so much to explore. However, all of that was laid bare because of the lead actor. In most films, the lead actor can make or break its success and in the case of this series, Sticky Fingas broke it in half. First of all, why a rapper turned actor was cast in the role of one of the most complex comic characters in the Marvel Universe, I will never know. Sticky's portrayal of Blade was completely inaccurate and only believable during a handful of scenes. He was basically angry and loud all the time, with the vernacular of an uneducated con; which is not true to the Blade character who was calm and collected and well versed. (Especially since the original character was actually English) Granted that Blade is cold and unsympathetic but Sticky's method of being angry at all times was a bad approach at portraying that. He had no sense of humor, which is something that Wesley Snipes had plenty of in all 3 films. Seeing that the series' story follows the films, Blade's characteristics should have been the same. I'd have to say that at best, Sticky Fingas makes a decent action star- able to shoot a good fight scene and make it believable. But the lack of acting chops make him a horrible choice for Blade. Eric Brooks is a character with many layers to him. There's a tragic drive behind what he does as well as an uncertainty that he's actually one of the good guys. With Sticky there was no trace of this nor, the self-hatred and conviction that Blade has within himself for being a hybrid and almost nothing of the "crazy side" that Blade's enemies know him for. Without Wesley on board to continue playing Blade, the role should have gone to an actor like Michael Jai White or even Will Smith (the former being the ideal choice). That aside, if the show had continued for more than one season, I would have enjoyed watching it even with Sticky at the helm. The casting director for this show, needs retire though.
shadowman123 Blade takes over from the movies following everybody's favourite daywalker taking on the undead and his quest for ultimate vengeance. I guess I could not complain about the weapons , action and babes which is probably enough reason for me to check it out and to be honest with you , it is not as bad as some people make it out to be. Kirk Jones is no Wesley Snipes but in certain places he seems to hold it well at times, the main bad guy Marcus Van kind of reminds me of Deacon Frost which in a way is a good thing as it lets us in further into the world of vampire politics and we get to see it works. The show had masses of potential as it warmed up , I was just shocked to see it cancelled.BLADE: THE SERIES - 6.8 OUT OF 10
Claudio Carvalho In Moscow, Blade (Sticky Fingaz) chases a vampire and discovers that Marcus Van Sciver (Neil Jackson) is in Detroit. Meanwhile in Detroit, the military Krista Starr (Jill Wagner) returns home seeking out her twin brother Zack Starr (David Kopp). When the family is informed that Zack was found dead, Krista identifies the corpse and asks information to the corrupt detective Det. Brian Boone (Bill Mondy) that is associated to Marcus Van Sciver, supplying prostitutes to feed his vampires. Krista meets Blade and works together with him trying to catch Marcus. However, she exposes herself trying to kill Marcus, and is abducted by the evil vampire. The "Pilot" of "Blade the Series" is a promising movie that gives a good expectation for the series. My wife is a fan of this series, which was abruptly interrupted in the end of the First Season, and she also liked this episode that has been just released on DVD in Brazil. The story is entertaining and the sexy Jill Wagner is has a great performance in the role of Krista. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Blade – A Nova Geração" ("Blade – The New Generation")
eched No, it is not on par with any of the films, but it is just a skip and a jump shy of being on par in my mind with the second entry(in my mind the weakest of the three films. Bash me if you must). The show has its flaws, mostly being a plot hole here and there, and Blade is no where near to as strong as he should be(he almost gets killed in each fight that he's in, and hath the time someone has to step in and save his but!) being the strongest problems. The pros is the show does keep the same feel of the films, unlike some other series out there(The Terminator series jumps to mind. That just screwed over everything.) What is also neat is how the series just goes all out. It is indeed one of the most blood filled TV shows I have ever seen. In fact, if you took all three films and smacked them together, the show would still have 5 times more blood. The action for a TV show is also Grade A. The fight scene between Marcus and a Pure Blood is just plain amazing and crazy! Also, some interesting characters, and unlike the films, Blade isn't the only one to kill a tone. Also gives Blade some more back story and makes him a bit more interesting.See on DVD set after you see the other films. That way it will fit in better and feel more like the forth film then just some TV show.Cheers!
