This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

I saw this guy, Roy Comfort, on Youtube, and decided to check out this film. He is an Evangelical street preacher, so I knew the movie was going to have a moral, and I knew that moral would include trusting in Jesus and repenting. I like the way he is able to think on his feet, and he can talk to people about difficult subjects in an unoffensive manner. The movie is only 1 hour, so it was an easy view. It's message is not complex, but it is a message worth considering.Now...
Regarding all of these so-called "reviews" that are 1-star. I was a bit surprised by this, because the movie, while not great, is clearly not 1-star trash. They all claimed the movie was hateful, which doesn't make any sense. It is not. Here's what I noticed. All of these "reviewers" registered within a 3 day period on IMDB. All of them have done one review, and one review only. They all have ridiculous user names like John4597 or Betty7631. The reviewers all have the same message, i.e. the movie is homophobic (it isn't). In short: there was a negative, hate campaign staged here (using SEO clerks, likely from either Bangladesh or the Philippines). Please keep that in mind if you are considering viewing this. Someone paid someone else to attack this movie, so the reviews are skewed to the negative.

By definition, "audacity" can refer to sheer arrogance for the sake of arrogance, or boldness without any regard for self-preservation. In his latest film, "Audacity" (available for download on June 24, 2015), Ray Comfort and his staff at Living Waters Publications, graciously demonstrates the latter definition—boldness without any regard for self-preservation."Audacity" presents the truth with great compassion on the hotly debated topic of homosexuality and all that it entails (same-sex marriages, are people born gay, what does the Bible say about homosexuality, etc.). And there's no Disney-like scenes. It's real, edifying and offers true hope to all who watch this movie. This movie demonstrates God's definition of love—extraordinary compassion without compromising the truth. One of my favorite lines is from Peter (Travis Owens) who says, "If I really love people, then I have to say something. Love can't stay silent."

I have never, and don't plan to ever again, review a film without watching it. This film very likely does not deserve a 10 star rating, but I am choosing to give it 10 stars to balance the ridiculous rash of one star ratings given by watchers whose ratings were based solely on the fact that they disagreed with the content. There are actually differing viewpoints regarding homosexuality. Maybe it's time we recognized that without demonizing those who disagree with us. Not everyone in favor of homosexuality is a godless pagan. Not everyone opposing homosexuality is a mindless bigot. I'm so tired of everyone being shouted down by the opposing side.My 10 star rating is my protest vote against those doing the shouting here.

Let's be honest, this movie could be the cinematic equivalent of Schindler's List and it would still get hundreds of one star ratings from viewers who are offended by the message. On the other hand, people who agree with the message are likely to give the movie a higher rating than it deserves in order to promote a viewpoint they agree with or simply as a reaction to the numerous 1 star reviews. To try to arrive at a real rating for Audacity, let's compare it to another movie people have strong, mixed feelings about: Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, which rates 6.5 on IMDb.Audacity has better acting, a more coherent plot, and two scenes where characters express actual emotion. Objectively, this should earn Audacity at least a 6.6 rating. The polarization of reviews for this movies suggests that if you are an evangelical Christian, you will really like Audacity; if you dislike Christians or support gay marriage, you will despise this movie; but if you are somewhere in between, you may find Audacity to be a decent movie which sincerely addresses a sensitive and controversial subject.
