Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

With "Anchorman" reaching cult status, fans have been demanding a sequel. Now they got one...over a decade later. So was it worth it?Fans of the original will enjoy it, with all the first movie's jokes reused (including another epic, cameo-filled news team battle). The characters are still the same: Ron's a chauvinistic idiot (if anything, he's even dumber in the sequel), Brian's still obsessed with sex, Champ is a dumb racist with an unhealthy fascination for Ron and Brick as a delightfully dense as before (even turning up to his own funeral). Kristen Wiig starts as Brick's equally empty-headed girlfriend. They're a scarily perfect couple. The sequel sees the team tackle the burgeoning 24-hour news cycle, using car chases and animal puff pieces to get big ratings. While you don't expect "Anchorman" to make biting political commentary, it does foreshadow the sensationalism of 24-hour news and even mainstream new bulletins, with attention-grabbing 'news' instead of real stories. While it lacks the original's iconic and endlessly quotable jokes, "Anchorman 2" works as pure fan service, giving people more of what they want. The tagline could well be 'The Sequel You Wanted is Finally Here. Enjoy."

Continuing the saga of Ron Burgundy and his news team , the comedy back 10 years later, now in the 70 to repeat his criticism of society and not be ashamed to make a nonsense mood. Gathering his team again this time to a telecommunications project journalism 24 hours in New York, Ron ends up being assigned to the the morning newspaper. To overcome hearing problems that track time has comes the solution to bring news that really would attract the audience in an appealing way, with his reports in kittens, best football bids and police chases, its public soon will the tops of the station. The film structure reminds much of its predecessor, which ends at a time, as part of joke. His style of humor, which is fully loaded for the great performance the core team, will make you laugh than others movies you might consider tacky or dull. Its brightness comes in its great reviews, which despite being made to the 70, continue to apply to today. Unfortunately much of the public not to play this style of humor most critical, finishes not understanding which the movie came, leading to be restricted to a less public. We can see this through your notes in RottenTomatoes, specialized reviews giving higher scores and big public tends to reject. With its weak direction, the set of jokes and construction characters captivate the film. Not to be seen in the room with the family, far addition, we need a more appropriate tasting. taking note that it is only a comedy, it fulfills its purpose and is with the added bonus of making you think.

The original Anchorman, created in 2004, became a classic and still has quotes being recited to this day such as Ron yelling, "Milk was a bad choice!" or Brick's kind invitation to Veronica saying, "I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party." Although the 2013 film Anchorman 2: The Legend of Ron Burgundy has many funny lines, it not only is less quotable but much less memorable. Movies represent what is currently acceptable to say and do in real life, and each generation is receiving a different, more vulgar, representation of life. Whether or not the movie is realistic, or completely off the wall and animated, the content is subconsciously understood by the viewer as what is currently acceptable in society. The English vocabulary receives the biggest hit from movies. . Language shows the current trends in the ever evolving vocabulary, and jokes made within films, quickly turn into popular phrases heard around school. Anchorman 2, although it is rated the same as its predecessor, it is shown to have much more vulgar language. With information from IMDb, the Internet Movie Database, we are able to statistically compare the two films. Both films possess 1 use of the F word and 14 sexual references. But when it comes to scatological and anatomical terms there are much more in the second film. The first Anchorman has 5 scatological and 19 anatomical terms while the second Anchorman has 14 anatomical terms and 27 scatological terms. Anatomical terms are considered, "words referring to parts of the human anatomy, mostly the private parts, and are considered crude" (IMDb). Scatological terms refer to, "words that have to do with feces, urine and defecation" (IMDb). This side by side comparison shows a clear increase in obscenities from the first to the second film. This is a very blatant depiction showing how the MPAA has become more lenient over time, but if that is not enough evidence already, both films are given the exact same five out of ten evaluation on profanity. Fortunately Anchorman 2, received a much lower view count than the ongoing hit of the first movie, and because the jokes were not as funny as the original, they did not quite stick as well. But, because of the impact movies play on our minds, this is still a topic of concern. With each new movie coming out, it is questionable what the language will be like within that film.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (2013): Dir: Adam McKay / Cast: Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate: Every bit as exciting and hilarious as the first film. This one regards the legacy of anchorman Ron Burgundy who descends into the 1980's. In the film's opening his co-anchor / wife Veronica is promoted and he is fired. This wrecks his marriage and separates him from his son and friends. After many fails stints at attaining his celebrity status he is given an opportunity to regain his legacy but it will be the graveyard shift at a rival station. He recruits his team and arrive only to be met with the snobbery of its lead anchor. Director Adam McKay and star Will Ferrell answered the original film's emerging popularity with a sequel with every bit as much hilarity without xeroxing too much from the original. As Ron Burgundy Will Ferrell goes through an accident that causes blindness. He also adopts a shark that he bottle feeds. David Koechner as sportscaster Champ is first seen in a chain of fried bat restaurants. Paul Rudd as Fantana is first seen doing a series of kitten photography shoots. Steve Carell as Brick goes through a big transition when he falls in love with a woman with an IQ as low as his. Christina Applegate plays Burgundy's wife who received the promotion that he didn't. While the film is visually creative its biggest asset is its numerous amusing celebrity cameos. Easily one of the best sequels one could ask for with a grand cruise control joke that reminds viewers that the legend will continue onward as long as absurdity exits. Score: 10 / 10
