I'm amazed that the movie hasn't been remade into a modern movie. It's a tale of a poor northern man who dedicates his life searching the vast frozen North for his young bride who was kidnapped and torn away from him by white men from the South. The story spans decades and thousands of miles of terrible and breathtaking country, while all the hero can think about is the fear and heartache that his young timid bride must be enduring, having never been more than a few miles from her home before the night she was stolen from him. He vows to bring her home and crush the men that took her.
