Teringer An Exercise In Nonsense
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
mia-cagalj Everything that person can imagine through songs is now screened. So modest feeling, emotions on top, old times and hard lives. Masterpiece. I had feeling like my heart will explode. II would compare it with The Hours and Danish girl by the amount of senses. Huge fan, although I was not expecting this good movie. "Take it careful with that viol, she craves for silence, just like you are scratching lil' angel with the top of it."
nanicj I am a big fan of Djordje Balasevic and his songs, books and now this movie. This movie was made by his song The story of Vasa Ladacki, witch is very sad (he loved a girl but she was not rich. Because he was poor to he wanted to have better life by marring rich girl. Eventually he realized he made a big mistake, because if you don't have true love you have nothing). Everyone expected that this movie would be sad story but Mr. Balasevic proved us wrong. He made cheerful movie about boys who get drown into Great War but they made it out alive and eventually enjoyed life. Great movie and everyone should watch it. I must have it on DVD :)
mailodblazazupancica I have to say, i am also a big fan of Balašević's music. And i've seen a fair share of films... And I loved this one. Let me tell you why...It is not predictable! Even if you know every word of his lyrics, you don't know, what will happen next or even more importantly, how will the film end. The film flows slowly, but you're not bored for a single second. In this feature it is a lot like Czech films - for instance "I served the English king", "My Sweet Little Village" or "Closely Watched Trains" - all great film! Not many things happen, but the charm is in the dialogs. And in the music! I hate movies where the music is forced, just so there isn't a lot of silence. But here you just want them to keep on playing. I don't know that much Serbian to only listen to what they said, so i had to read the subtitles, which takes away some of the charm... The only mistake i did notice was the sign for an insurance company, which definitely did not exist in the time of the first world war...I didn't have big expectations for this film and i thought it was great. Maybe that's the catch... And i was really happy i couldn't find it anywhere to download it in some telesinc quality and watched it at home. Big screen is the way to go. I would really like to see it again, which i hadn't say for a lot of film i saw, i'll tell you that.
velevski-s First of all, let me just start by saying how huge fan I am of Mr. Balasevic and his work. He is the best songwriter by far I have seen in my life. After much much waiting, I had the chance to see Kao Rani Mraz in Skopje, and I must say that I had high expectations. Unfortunately, Mr. Balasevic's songwriting genius has translated into a somewhat ordinary picture on the big screen that fails to capture the deep emotions and narrative simplicity that is the story of Vasa Ladacki.Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it is a bad film; what I am saying, though, that it is not by far as good as it could have been! You have a great story, full of extravagant potential, as universal message as they can get, absolutely fantastic music, pretty decent cast (I was pleasantly surprised by Jovana Balasevic) and yet there is something that is not working... All in all, i feel the story deserves more... much more. And if you are a Balasevic fan, remember: Vasa Ladacki is a song! That is how it was meant to be in the first place!
