851222 Greetings from Lithuania."Amores Perros" (2000) tells 3 separate stories which are linked by a horrific car accident. All 3 stories are down to earth accounts of people desperate to live. I was really involved into "Amores Perros", a 2 h and 30 min. drama / thriller. Acting, script and directing by a great Alejandro González Iñárritu were all top notch. The movie is pretty bloody and gritty and the times, and it never started to be predictable or boring.Overall, "Amores Perros" is a very good movie. It tells involving and real stories about people who are desperate to live or survive. Very good movie overall.

adonis98-743-186503 A horrific car accident connects three stories, each involving characters dealing with loss, regret, and life's harsh realities, all in the name of love. I love Aejandro González Iñárritu's work as a director especially in Birdman and The Revenant. But this is without a doubt his worst film that i have ever seen, the acting is wooden, the characters are bad and the situations that they go threw are not as dramatic as they might have hoped cause personally i hated all 3 stories more and more and none of them become clear by end plus the film doesn't have an actual main character. Also they should be shamed of themselves for what they did to those poor dogs threw out the entire film and don't get me start on that running time. Overall Amores Perros is an overrated junk with some of the worst acting performances i've ever seen. (0/10)

Chitze Amores perros, a.k.a Love's a bitch, a trichtype: three apparently disparate stories, not necessarily distinct, amalgamate and provide a combined effect on the viewer, has all the necessary ingredients of a simple movie aiming to tackle complex issues related, but not limited, to love, in all its forms, loyalty, treachery, faith, brotherly love , or lack of it, and hope. In one story, protagonist caves into lust and doesn't care whether God laughs at his plans; contrastingly, in the third plot beleaguered veteran, an assassin, tries to see clearly even though he jests earlier in the movie that if God wishes him to see everything blurry, he will do so. Just as having all the key ingredients, fresh and appropriate, doesn't guarantee an exquisite dish, so having appropriate cast, relevant production values and stellar writing doesn't promise a great viewing. This is where a director's worth really shows. While viewing the first part, the viewer feels adventurous, hopeful and eerily guilt. These feeling give way to feeling of irritation, nagging and loss of hope, during the second part ; one again feels hopeful, furthers his understanding of life and human nature, and acknowledges importance of moving on after viewing the third and final part of the movie. Innaritu's genius has an effect. It lies not in showing what life is, but in making the audience feel it. For English audience, who know little about fame of Mexican actors, the movie may sometimes feel like a well-directed and edited documentary, with close up shot spreading throughout the movie and realistic portrayal. You neither appreciate what most characters do, nor condemn them; because u realize love's a bitch!!!

Red_Identity No. I mean, Inarritu has made sentimental, overly melodramatic films before, but he really goes overboard with this. It seems like his only intent is to tug our heartstrings and our anxiety and our thrills, and the first act just comes off incredibly contrived. The second act is better, with the couple, but it still is on-the-nose. The performances aren't the problem really (most of the time, sometimes some actors also overdo it, but one really needs to blame the material). The third act is by far the best and actually a pretty good, solid, effective piece of work with some great themes and the reason I don't entirely dislike the film. It was enough to not completely dismiss the entire film.
