One of my all time favorites.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

The four stories interlap, but it's still an anthology film because they are mutually unrelated. Initially, I didn't know it was an anthology film which caused some small measure of frustration during the first half when it seemed that there were too many characters and sub-plots and that nothing made much sense. But the set-up is anyway not as good as the unfolding of the plots, so the film's strengths lie in the second half. There are some nice plot-twists, with the weakest story being the teen ghost-team story, partly because it hasn't got much to do with Christmas, plus it's a far too standard ghost-possession story; still, that girl is awfully cute. Let's see if you can figure out the wild but excellent plot-twist at the end. I doubt anyone could predict that. Not an absurd plot-twist either, which happens much too often in thrillers and horrors.

Some people, or rather a lot of people, are going to hate this movie. It's easy to see why - four short, separate Christmas Eve horror tales in one movie, flicking back and forth, it can be difficult to keep up. If you can manage to stay focused and patient, there is some great entertainment here.'A Christmas Horror Story' has everything you'd want in a festive horror movie. It's funny, gory, scary, and very, very weird. From zombie elves attempting to murder Santa to a possessed child, this is sure to satisfy those who like their horrors more on the 'quirky' side.It entertained me for an hour and a half, but I certainly won't be revisiting this bizarre Christmas film any time soon.

I've read most of the reviews after I saw this awesome movie. Forget about those long reviews that try to analyze every aspect...whatever. This is a GREAT movie, however, DEFINITELY NOT FOR CHILDREN! Plus, it's got William Shatner in it - what's NOT to love about it?This review has to contain at least ten lines of text, so what I can say that won't ruin it for you...? Well, not much. The zombie elves were pretty funny. Krampus was very, VERY cool. In fact, I totally agree when I heard a comment that they wish that this entire movie was about just Santa & Krampus. That would have definitely made me bump this up another star making it a solid nine (9). I can also say that Santa looks totally "bad-ass". The one braid that rests over his right shoulder with the gash that comes down across his face makes him look like he could join up with GI Joe. This is definitely NOT for children. Whether they believe in Santa or not, I'd think twice before letting anyone under the age of 14 to watch this. It has gore, trust me, "gore" is a definite understatement. The ending is sad, didn't expect it - that's for sure. And I can honestly say that this movie made me jump. It may not be a holiday classic, but it's definitely better than that "other" killer Xmas movie (without mentioning any names). I believe it's a movie you have to watch. I feel you'll surprisingly enjoy it like I did.

I am a huge slasher film fan....but this movie let me down. Mainly because it was so slow to start. The plot was kinda "off" and was off point now and then. I understand the concept....but the movie really just didn't make sense. It bounced around too much!!! At one point you are watching "santa" and the next point you are watching him kill his elves with a staff. maybe I missed it...but why does he start killing them..... ? Little confused. The beginning s very slow.....and confusing...why does the boy become a changling.......what brings it on. ....etc. I like the idea at the end where Santa kills everyone.....but it comes unexpectedly .....like the scene in the elevator.
