6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain Audience Reviews

More Review
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Bumpy Chip It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Robert Heathman In my opinion this movie was desperate for content and lacking intelligence to the point of underestimating my own. Aimo Koivunen's story would have been a better choice for content of a film on this subject and includes survival meth. Aimo's story, which makes 6 below pale in comparison, indicates anything "extraordinary" could be attributed to meth. What can also be attributed to meth is the main characters entire predicament, who is eventually desperately rescued by National Guard. I found none of this heroic or inspiring. An additional slap in the face is the movie makes no mention of National Guard and instead, when faced with a movie devoid of pretty girls takes the artistic liberty to replace all that with a single pretty girl. I feel the film may have taken multiple artistic liberties to create content to the point it was hard to take seriously. character interactions where so stupid it was hard to watch at times. The true story is the protagonist was an idiot, graciously handed a second chance at life and refuses to let that act go in vain. This movie p#@#3 all over that and tries to spin a story of heroism that is so thin it's translucent bordering on endorsement of meth, which just about every military in the world also endorses. Don't take my word for it ask Aimo. I eat my scabs for fun.
Dr Lewis I'm a big fan of films that teach you lessons and survival against all odds, but for some reason this film fell somewhat flat. It's not in the league of Everest or other mountain survival epics.Maybe it's that the protagonist is so idiotic in that typical American over-emotional way. Over celebrating small victories and screaming and crying over set backs. Have a bit more stiff upper lip old chap. You're probably not going to 'kick nature's ass'. Going down a double black diamond run late in the day with a storm rolling in surely isn't a great choice. Follow the lift down? The cut scenes were annoying and seemed filler as basically it is very hard to tell a story with one character, but it's been done very well more than once.To sum up; it's the kind of film I like. but it's just not made that well. Ideal for a long-haul flight time-killer.
lisakaymeyer I didn't know I NEEDED this film til I saw it; I walked in to the theatre BURDENED - but I walked out with a far healthier, more effective perspective on my burdens. I really am burdened, you see: heavy-duty problems physically, financially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, you name it. Maybe 1/2 a decade ago I made the first move to transform my entire life into something I LIVED instead of something I just survived from day to day, and ever since, everywhere I turn is an almost insurmountable obstacle. And I'm tired, very tired. In fact I'm sitting right now in a brace with a walker beside me, hurrying myself to finish before the shakes get too bad when my pain meds kick in. I walked in to the theatre to see 6 Below feeling guilty for taking a break from my problems. I walked out inspired, thinking in a new way and asking myself new questions: "So I have a physical problem? At least surgery can help it and I don't have to be amputated!! So I'm being bullied at work? At least I'm not completely isolated in a hostile wilderness for 8 days and can go home to my pets! So I'm not happy with who I am and want to change? At least I've already had and survived my wake-up call!" Seriously, this film had a HUGE impact on me for a very SIMPLE reason: If Eric Le Marque can survive that, then I can survive this. It's the huge difference between whining and self-pity vs smiling and contentment. That simple. Thanks for pulling my head out of my a**. PS the snowboarding shots were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
I_should_be_reading_a_book *** May contain spoilers, proceed at your own risk ***I'm part of the 95% of the world population who is not a resident of the USA and I found this film insulting. A drug user, adrenaline junkie who chooses risk before discipline, a social derelict takes himself to the brink of death in chase of an adrenaline rush. Undoubtedly, the central character is a strong and able man, but he's also irresponsible. In every other place but pampered "America" the guy should be maggot food. Lacking basic survival equipment --a good jacket with a hood, a basic magnetic $10 compass, a disposable gas lighter or flint striker, an emergency small backpack (costing probably $10) with a modicum of survival elements like a space blanket, a few energy bars and a $20 rescue kit- plainly qualifies as stupidity. Darwin's Law applies. Being rescued by a million dollar helo, factual or not, insults the rest of the world who would never have the chance to expect that. Consequences: Fair cost to irresponsibility.
